"C-c-chris." Alex stuttered before running out the back door. I turned to whoever this Chris guy was. "You get out of her house and I swear I ever see you again..." I said, my voice deepening and my finger pointed at him. I didn't wait for a reply and I ran out of the house after Alex. "ALEX!!" I yelled as I raced down the street. I knew exactly where she'd be. I turned the corner and saw her look back, pause, but keep on running. "ALEX, PLEASE STOP!" I shouted running faster. I rounded another corner and came up to the abandoned park. I stopped running and slowly jogged to the bench she always sat at. "Alex." I breathed, sighing as I crouched down in front of her. "Princess, what's wrong? Who was he?" She was sobbing and could barely breath. I picked her up turned around and sat on the bench so she was in my lap. "Princess, please don't cry." I said as I brushed her hair away from her face, her hands went up to cover her face but I pulled them away. "Hey, hey." I said quietly as I brushed tears from her face. She grabbed my shoulders and buried her face into my neck. "Ssshhh, its okay princess, he left, I promise I'll never let him get you." She sobbed harder into my neck starting to soak the collar of my shirt. "P-p-p-please, I d-don't wanna go h-h-home." She stuttered, still crying into my neck. "Okay princess." I whispered and I started to stand up, still carrying her in my arms, I slowly started to walk back to her house to get my car. Who could he be, I thought as I walked, and why would seeing him make my princess cry so much. Could he be an ex, I wondered rounding a corner, he isn't that bad looking, but why would she cry. Something suddenly dawned on me, if he laid a hand on her...he won't be so handsome looking after I get threw with him. I rounded the next corner, my car coming into view. Alex's crying had calmed down and she was only breathing ragged. "Hey, princess," I whispered, "we're almost there, where do you wanna go?" She snuggled closer into my neck. "Can we just drive?" She asked quietly. "Whatever you want, princess." I opened the passenger side door and tried sitting her down but she clung to me. "Come on, princess, you have to sit down so we can leave." She slowly relaxed her grip and let her head come up from my neck. Her eyes were red and puffy from all her crying, she hung her head and slide into her seat. I shut her door and jogged around to my side. I looked over at her and frowned, I wish she wouldn't cry, it kills me to see her cry. I cranked the engine and drove out of her driveway, heading nowhere in particular.
