He groanes loudly. Her raspy morning voice sounds hoarse and incredibly sexy to him.
" What?!" She asks, startled.
"I am not..." He replies, holding his tongue as he refrains from saying the last part, '... But that can be arranged.' His heated gaze gives it away.
They stare at each other, and she feels herself growing uncomfortably hot again.
"Th... The cut on your forehead is gone." Nayla says, suddenly taking notice of Alex's forehead and seeing neither a scratch nor a scar of the wound he had two nights before.
"Uhum... Perks of being a wolf." He simply states, his eyes never leaving her face.
"Alex..." "Don't." She pleads softly.
"Don't what?"
"Don't look at me like that..."
"Like?.." Alex probes.
"... Like you want to kiss me or something." Nayla whispers, looking away from him.
"Look at me" He says. But, Nayla is too afraid to, she is afraid of her body betraying her, She is afraid of the fact that there is so much more about Alex Hunter she doesn't know, things that she is just beginning to discover.
Gently holding her chin, Alex directs her face towards him.
"Look at me." and this time she does. Softly, he traces her bottom lip with his thumb and caresses her soft cheek.
"I want to kiss you." Alex admits, pausing after his sentence so it sinks in. Nayla unconsciously wets her lips at his statement, failing miserably at looking unaffected.
"I want to kiss you... And I want to do so much more to you than you can possibly fathom." Alex utters, his voice dipping devilishly low. He tugs a few stray strands of her hair behind her ear and lifts his head towards it. Nayla's body becomes rigid with anticipation as his warm breath fans and trickles her ear.
"... But I won't." He speaks softly into her ear before swiftly getting out of his bed.
Nayla slowly lets out the breath she had been holding, feeling stupid for being so easily seduced. She watchs in awe at his wide shoulders and back as he flexes and stretched his muscles before stepping into the jeans he had discarded on the floor next to the bed the night before. He pulls them quickly over his boxers and picks a fresh shirt from his stack in his wardrobe.
"Why?... Why won't you?" Nayla asks out of curiosity as she sits upright in his bed, its not like he hasn't done it before to her. Alex turns around to look at her, searching her eyes.
"You are not ready yet," He states "I want it to be your choice."
Nayla can only nod. She understands the deeper meaning behind his words.
"I will make us some breakfast." He says unfortunately pulling a T-shirt over his torso, covering his beautiful body and walking towards the exit of the room. He stops at the door and looks back at Nayla.
"The bathroom is that way, if you would like to freshen up." Alex informs, pointing to the door near the fireplace.
"Yeah... Thanks." Nayla signs.
Nayla Can't believe her disheveled look as she gapes at her reflection in the bathroom mirror. In the same breath, she had to admit she looked well rested and practically glowing. 'If this is what it means to sleep in Alex Hunter's bed, maybe I should do it more often' Nayla comtemplates half jokingly to herself. She rakes her fingers through her hairs to get most of the knots out and braids her hair together. Nayla tried to straighten out her clothes the best she can before exiting the bathroom.
Nayla ponders over the events of the day before and wonderz what would happen from now on. Alex had said he wanted it to be her choice but, being a Luna as far as she could tell was like being married, even worse perhaps.
Nayla didn't know if she is ready for that commitment yet. Not too long ago, she had thought that she had been with the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with, and look at how that one ended.
A loud growl resonating from her stomach pulls Nayla out of her thoughts. She quickly splashes some water in her face and trails Alex to the kitchen.
"That smells really good." She comments, loving the aromas of bacon and eggs floating in the kitchen.
Alex gives her, his signature half smirk as Nayla settles down in front of her plate at the small table that Alex has set out.
"Would you like tea or coffee? And some orange juice? " He askes, as he puts some eggs, bacon and toasts on both plates as well as two bowls of freshly cut fruits.
" Tea and yes, please." She is so hungry that she has a hard time waiting for Alex to sit down so she can dig in.
"This is good." Nayla says as they both start eating.
"Glad you like it."
Alex watches Nayla eat heartily and knew that it had something to do with her not eating the evening before, however, he felt relieved that Nayla isn't a light or a picky eater. She would have a hard time fitting in the Silverstone household in the morning otherwise.
" What?" Nayla asked when she lifted her head and caught Alex watching her.
"Just looking at you." He stated as he ate.
Nayla cleared her throat, not knowing what to say to that.
"About yesterday, Eve said that the boss had been angry with you because of me, why?" Nayla asked concerned.
"That was just a misunderstanding. Eve shouldn't have brought that up" Alex replied, not really interested in going through the details.
"Is it because you are mated to me? A human?" Nayla asked, remembering how Eve had used the word human as though it had been an insult.
But before Alex could answer the question Nayla's phone went off interrupting them.
"Ah, excuse me." Nayla apologized, fetching her phone out of her small purse that she had left lying in the sitting room. The caller's ID showed her uncle's name on the screen. He was probably worried since Nayla hadn't gone home last night. She had totally forgotten to send a message informing her uncle that she is alright.
"Hello uncle?" Nayla answered "Oh... Rebecca? Why do you have my uncle's phone?"
"What!?... How?" Nayla asked alarmed. Alex, who could hear what was being said on the other side of the line, was already putting on his shoes and getting his car keys.
"Is he alright?" Nayla worried.
"Okay, we will be there as soon as we can." Nayla replied, ending the call with a troubled expression.
"Put on my shoes. I'll take you to the clinic" Alex told her, as he finished putting their plates in the sink.
Nayla barely reacted. She looked utterly distraught as she kept staring at her phone, her eyes vacant and her fingers trembling.
Alex noticed her state, and immediately walked to her and engulfed her small frame in his embrace. He just held her, not saying a word, until her trembling subsided.
