Arabella's POV

It was all my fault. Who came up with the idea of moving us in all together? Me. I sighed, feeling a tear rolling down my chin and dropping off my chin, splashing onto the floor.

We were haunted. Darcy had broken her hips. Joey's having more episodes than ever. Kalum's hallucinating ghosts and having mysterious dreams. And now we were all being threatened by Luke, an evil ghost.

Since Luke's attention wasn't me, I bolted downstairs, to the front door. Maybe it was selfish of me. Maybe I should've done something to Luke and let everyone come with me. But at that moment, I needed out. Just as I reached the door, a click sounded, signalling that it was just locked. I grabbed the handle, jerking it up and up at the slightest hope that it would open. Then I heard an unsettling snicker. I froze, too scared to turn. I turned slowly and there he was. Luke.

He shook his head in amusement. "That's a bit selfish, don't you think? Leaving them for me to deal with while you free yourself."

I looked at the ground, feeling terrible.

"And one of them are related to you, aren't they?"

I looked up at him. "I needed some time alone, okay? It's not everyday you find a creepy ghost trying to kill you!" I screamed at him.

He seemed taken aback at my outburst but quickly returned to his straight face. "Sweetheart, I'm not going to you."

I didn't believe him. "Sure. Whatever you say, Luke."

"Don't take that tone with me!" He flew to my face, about a centimetre away. I stared him coldly in his eyes. I quickly whipped out my arm and tried to hit him in the head, but my puny human arm just phased right through.

He snickered again. "Where was I? Oh. I'm not going to kill you. But I'm going to kill them?" He pointed at the roof, probably meaning everyone on the second floor.

My eyes widened. "Why them? Why not me also?"

"Because." He looked me up and down. "I've got something I want to do with you. And maybe Kalum too. He's cute."

I walked back until I was right against the door. "You're sick!"

"Thank you. I try." He smirked and then sighed dramatically. "I suppose I'd better get back up there. Would you like to join us?"

"No, not really." I snapped at him.

"Oh, but I insist!" He grabbed me by the shoulder and flew up facing right through the floor. I thought physics would kick in and I wouldn't go through, but I did, and for a second, I envied Luke for being a ghost. All that manipulative power, all those skills to just phase into and through objects.

Once we got into the room, I was greeted by a horrid sight. Everyone. All my friends and my brother, all hung. From thin ropes tied to the ceiling. They're once bright expressions now lifeless and rotting. Bloody puddles were at their feet. I choked. How could he have done this.

"Do you want to end up like them?" A slurring whisper in my ear sounded. I knew it was Luke. I shook my head furiously. "Then join me, Bella. Join me."

I tried to look at him, but my head was frozen in place and my eyes were frozen open. I couldn't do anything but stare at my friends' dead bodies. Slowly turning around on heir rope and ants crawling all over them.

Then Luke surprised me yet again. He started kissing my neck all way up to my ear. "Join me."

"S-Stop!" I wanted to hit him, but my whole body was dead still.

"Come on, you know you want to. All this power over humans. All this manipulative power. All this sick power. You want it. I know you do, so come on, Bella, join me!"

He started kissing me again. My head was spinning. My heart was beating. My soul was throbbing.

And then suddenly I stopped. I could move.

I turned to Luke and gave him a twisted smile, which he returned.

"I'll join you."

well. I have no idea what's happening.
