Hey, sorry it's been a while! I was at camp. And it was super fun! 25 hour drive though...oh well. And you guys don't care so on to chapter 7!
~~~~~~~~~~~
The Doctor pulled me down a hallway and through many twists and turns. We finally came to a dead end.
"Well," the Doctor started. "This is very not good."
"DELETE, DELETE!" could be heard behind us.
"There's got to be a way out," I said. "There's usually a secret door or something."
"A secret door!" the Doctor exclaimed as he grabbed my face and kissed my forehead. "Brilliant!"
"Wait, then where is it?" I asked looking around.
"DELETE, DELETE!" It was getting louder.
"Oh come on, Emile," the Doctor said. "It's staring you in the face!"
I gave him a confused look.
The Doctor rolled his eyes and soniced the back wall. It slid to the right, revealing a room full of blinking lights and buttons and wires.
"Hidden doors don't stare at you," I remarked, not looking at him.
"Oh, it was a figure of speech," he retorted as he lightly hit my arm. "Now come on."
He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the room, sonicing it shut behind us.
"Can they get in?" I asked as we went up to what looked like the control panel.
"Yes," he said, but when I gave him a "what-the-hell" look, he added, "But not easily."
"Well that's comforting, I said sarcastically.
The Doctor just shrugged his shoulders as he messed with wires and buttons.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm blowing up the planet," he said.
"You're what?" I was surprised. That wasn't like the Doctor. "You can't just blow up the planet!"
He turned to me."What am I supposed to do?! I don't have all the answers, despite what everyone thinks!"
I couldn't believe it. He was actually yelling at me.
"I didn't say you did," I replied calmly. "I'm just saying there has to be another option because this isn't like you."
"I...Emile, I'm-" he stuttered.
"No, it's okay. I know you didn't mean it." I wasn't quite looking at him though.
He reached out his hand and acted like he was going to put it on my shoulder, but then changed his mind. Suddenly there was a loud banging on the door.
"Okay, so no blowing up the planet," the Doctor said as he turned back to the control panel.
I turned around, trying to find something helpful that wasn't an explosive. I saw a big blue button.
"Doctor," I said. "This button says shut down. Maybe it will just shut them all down."
"Or it shuts down just the control panel, leaving us with no options," he said.
"So which is it?" I asked.
"I don't know," he responded.
"Isn't there a button to turn their emotions back on?" I asked.
"Oh they wouldn't be stupid enough to do that," he said as he kept messing with wires.
"So should we risk it?" I asked.
The Doctor turned around. "I don't know," he said honestly.
"But it's our best shot?"
"I guess so, yeah," he said exasperatedly.
"Well okay then," I said and I slammed my hand down on the button.
Everything went quiet and pitch black.
"Doctor, the banging stopped," I said. "I think it worked."
"Hang on, let me check," he said as he flipped switches. "Yes, I think it did."
"So we can just go now," I said.
"Let me go first," he said as he grabbed my hand.
We felt our way along the wall until we got to the door.
"Emile, get behind me," the Doctor said.
I moved behind him and he soniced the door open. It slid open to reveal still Cybermen.
I let out the breath that I didn't realize I was holding. "It worked," I said, relieved.
The Doctor grabbed me and hugged me so tightly I couldn't breath. "You could have killed us," he whispered in my ear.
"And you could have blown up the planet," I reminded him. "But we didn't."
He released me and we walked out through the twists and turns back to the TARDIS.
Before we walked into the blue box, I asked, "Can they ever wake up?"
"The Cybermen are like the Daleks," he said. "They are never really gone."
I didn't have a response for that, so I just walked into the TARDIS.
As soon as he shut the door, he grabbed my shoulders and turned me around.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you today," he said, avoiding my eyes. "I'm just so..."
"So what?" I asked. I could tell there was something wrong.
"I'm still torn up about the Po-." He took a deep breath. "Them."
I pulled him into a hug and he lost it. I stroked his hair as he cried into my shoulder. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes, and then he pulled away, wiping his eyes and sniffling.
"Sorry about your shirt," he whispered.
I smiled. "Don't worry about it."
"Will you stay with me tonight?" he asked so quietly I almost didn't hear him.
"Of course," I replied. "Just let me change into my pajamas and I'll be right there."
I changed and walked down to the Doctor's bedroom. I knocked three times and he opened the door. Tonight he was wearing emerald green pajamas. They were the same color as his eyes, which were still puffy.
We went and sat down on the bed and I turned to him and asked, "Are you alright?"
"Umm, not right now," he said sadly.
I looked down at my hands, feeling horrible for him.
"How can I help?" I asked.
"Just stay with me," he responded.
"Okay," I said as I looked back up at him. "I won't ever leave you."
He smiled slightly, but it still didn't quite reach his eyes.
He gently picked up my hand and kissed the top of it.
"Thank you," he whispered.
We got under the covers and laid down. Eventually, his breathing slowed and I could tell he was asleep. I rolled over to look at him, even though his back was toward me.
"No," I whispered. "Thank you. For everything."
