Shaylees POV
I awake to whispered voices.
"Where did you find her?" Asks one male voice.
"She was alone in the woods asleep. Remember the girl we saved the other day in the wolf fight?" Says a voice I know too well. Gabe.
"Yes but why did you bring her here?"
"Was I supposed to let her stay there and die?" Gabe says. I'm pretty sure their talking about me.
"No. I guess not. But what are we supposed to do with her?"
"Can we keep her please she's pretty?!" Says a different voice that sounds like a little kid.
"No Rico we can't. She has a family too." Gabe says.
"Darn it." Says the little boy I am assume is Rico.
I hear foot steps come my way and I sit up and stretch.
"Well good morning." Gabe says kneeling down beside me.
"Good morning." I say and before I can say anything else two other people come into view. "Who are they?" I ask scooting closer to Gabe.
"This one is Rico." He says as he points to an adorable little boy with brown shaggy hair. "And the other is Kevin."
Kevin has a whitesh hair color with deep blue eyes like Gabe.
"Hello." I say wirily.
"It's okay they won't hurt you." Gabe says.
He stands up and offers me a hand I take it and he pulls me up. I look at the three people in front of me. The smallest one runs up and hugs me.
"Hi!" He exclaims. I hesitate and then I hug him too.
"Hi." I say. He lets go and backs up. Where did these people come from. "What time is it?" I ask.
"About 6:30 pm." Gabe says as he looks outside and at the sun.
"Oh no! I have to get home!" I say.
"You can't leave the wolves are out. They will kill you!" Rico says as he runs up to me and squeezes me.
"But my.." I say before I'm cut off by Gabe.
"He's right. As soon as its morning I will take you home. I promise." He says.
I think for a while about my options. I either get killed by either my parents or the wolves. Or I stay here and be safe with three people who seem nice. Well that was easy. "Fine I will stay but as soon as the sun rises you take me home."
"Ok I will." Gabe says.
He starts a fire and cooks some squirrel. We eat and then we lay down to sleep.
I lay in the corner as the coldness surrounds me. I try to stay warm but I just end up cold again. I look over and see Rico in the other corner of the cave covered up and Kevin is laying in the middle of the cave in a ball shaped form. And then I look and see that Gabe is laying at the end of the cave under the stars with no blanket. The moon shines in his face and makes it glow.
I think about the warmth i got from his body earlier when I first arrived here. The warmth I need right now. I get up with the blanket wrapped around me and walk towards him.
I lightly tap his shoulder which makes him sit up and almost flip me on my back.
"Did your parents teach you not to sneak up on a beast sleeping or not?!" He whispers.
"Sorry it's just that I'm freezing." I say watching my breath in the air.
He looks confused but then he grabs my wrist and pulls me down beside him. He lays down and covers me with my red cape. I instantly get warm as I snuggle up next to him.
I then slowly drift to sleep after I feel his arms wrap around me.
