Gabe's POV
Once back to the cave Rico leads Vennessa with Connor still in her hands to his bed to lay down and sleep which they do within a few seconds.
"Shay will you come with me for a sec?" I ask her.
"Yeah I can." We walk hand in hand to the end if the cave where she has never been before. "Wow!" She says as soon as we walk out.
The sun is setting and the waterfall looks like fire from the sun in it. Everything is green and perfect.
I lead her to my favorite place in this side of the woods so no one will hear us. I walk her to the glistening lake that has weeping willows all around it.
"This is amazing." She says looking at the scene.
"It is isn't it." I say. I lead her to the green grass under one of the trees and we sit down.
"What do you need?" She ask laying down and looking up at me.
"Are you really okay I mean seriously are you?" I ask her. Her red hair flows brightly against the green grass.
"Well no." She says sitting back up. "My dads dead and I mean that's amazing but for my mom it's a different story all together."
"Oh I'm sorry. I wish I could help you." I say looking to the ground.
"Don't be. And you are helping by letting me Vennessa and Connor stay with you." She says. I wrap my arms around her and pull her close to me.
She puts her head on my shoulder and and puts both arms around me. We lean back into the ground where she curls up as close to me as she can as tears form in her eyes.
"Wolves need to die. For killing my mom and my village." She says.
Fear consumes me as I remember that I'm not human. I'm only half and half. Half wolf half human.
"I agree." I say. She puts her head in my chest and we stay like that until the sun goes down and you can hear the crickets.
We head back to the cave to an annoying little baby crying and screaming while Vennessa tries to calm him. Shaylee runs to them.
"What happened?" She asks.
"He woke up and now he's hungry." Vennessa says.
"Here let me see him." Shaylee says taking him into her arms. She rocks him back and forth until he calms. "Someone needs to go to the village with Vennessa and get him milk." She says.
"I'll go." Rico and Kevin says at the same time. They give each other a glare as to say "I said it first."
"You'll both go with her extra protection. Now go the poor things hungry." Shay says as they walk out of the cave.
I go and sit beside her and look at the baby in her arms.
"Do you ever want to have children?" I ask.
"I don't really know. I've never thought about it really. How about you? You ever want to have children?" She asks looking up at me.
"Eventually. As long as it's with the right person." I say looking up at her from the baby.
"Who me?" She asks with a smile on her face.
"I didn't say that." I reply smiling.
"You implied it!" She says. Then we both start laughing and so does the baby.
"Well you made him happy." I say.
"Yeah I've always been good with children." She sighs looking back down at him.
