Keep Me In Your Heart
Rubbing my eyes, I stretched and got ready for the big day ahead of me. Today was the day Lauren went away to practice for her tour and I was planning on spending every single minute of the day with her so I brushed my teeth and crawled back on the bed, my body hovering over hers.
"My beautiful girl. Wake up, it's time to get ready." I whispered in her ear softly but she pulled up the covers to hide her face. Lauren pouted but when I puckered my lips, she instantly moved the sheets away.
"Go shower. I'll cook breakfast and pack your things." I sent Lauren off but she stole a kiss from me and ran inside of the bathroom before I could catch her.
"Lauren open the door! I need to steal my kiss back." I shouted and Lauren poked her head out of the door. I laughed and pushed the door open, holding her down with my arm as I used my free hand to turn the shower on. She squealed and tried getting out of my grip but I pushed her in the shower with me, the cold water hitting us both.
"Y/N you asshole!" Lauren screeched and shut the water off and I smiled, leaning over to capture her lips. Lauren relaxed and reciprocated my movements, this time with more power.
"You love me." I broke the kiss and Lauren rolled her eyes, pushing me out of the bathroom. I left her to get ready and as she showered I neatly folded her clothes and packed her luggage. She was strict about having everything organized so I double checked my work and went off to cook us breakfast. There wasn't enough time for us to eat calmly so I grabbed some frozen waffles, popped them in the toaster and settled on putting them on a plate for her. My appetite wasn't very active at the moment so I cooked a side of scrambled eggs and bacon for Lauren and took a seat across from her set up plate.
"Y/N you're so good to me." Lauren rushed down the stairs already dressed for her day and I chuckled at her words.
"Nothing says love like frozen waffles." I joked and Lauren pecked my lips, sitting across from me to eat her meal. "Why aren't you eating?" Lauren asked with a mouthful of food and I giggled, waiting for her to properly digest her food.
"You're leaving for your tour, I'm going to miss you so much Lauren." I cleared my throat to prevent her from hearing my voice break but she picked up on my emotions and placed her hand over mine.
"You should come with me. It's not too late to get you a plane ticket." Lauren suggested but I declined her offer.
"I have to step it up first. I need to write songs, maybe I'll join you for another tour." Being the stubborn girl she was, Lauren didn't take no for an answer and said she'd talk to management for me. I complied and ended our discussion, not wanting to start an argument with her.
"Thank you for cooking me breakfast but it's time to go. The girls are outside." Lauren grabbed her luggage and I followed her inside of the van, cuddling with her in the back seat. Dinah was blasting music, Camila was enjoying being able to drive, Normani was sleeping on Ally, and Lauren was resting her head on my lap. I combed my hands through her hair and watched her drift off to sleep, her nose occasionally scrunching up or her head shifting comfortably on my lap. It didn't take long for us to arrive at the airport and since Lauren had just woken up, I chose to walk her through the gates, in fear of her having an anxiety attack. She was never good with having crowds of people single handedly choosing to bombard her and she was vulnerable to anxiety attacks when she woke up so I did my best to keep her covered.
"Y/N, I don't feel good. I can't breathe." Lauren abruptly stopped walking and dropped her luggage but the fans around her got in a circle and trapped us both. They were shoving cameras in her face and she politely took a few pictures before breaking down in my arms. I grew enraged and picked up her bags but I didn't shout at her fans, I calmly asked them to step aside and explained the situation. Some fans were angry but others cleared a path for us and apologized for making Lauren overwhelmed.
"Listen to my voice. Lauren, I'm here. I'm taking care of you, it's okay." I kissed the side of Lauren's head as we settled down on a chair and Dinah cracked a few jokes to lighten the mood. I grabbed Lauren's hand and traced a heart over her palm, her eyes looking up to meet with mine.
"Lauren do you need anything? There are a few shops around if you need water or if you need tissues I'll buy some." I worriedly looked around for a store and got up from my seat but Lauren latched onto my side and shook her head.
"No, no, no! Stay here, sit down. I need you to hold me. I need you to talk to me." Lauren held me down and I carried her onto my lap, cradling her in my arms.
"I can't wait to see you perform. You're going to fuck it up every single day. I might be far away but I'll call you daily, and you better not be flirting with any boys out there or I'll catch a flight and steal you back. You're mine and I'm yours, that's the slogan we both have to remember." Lauren's shallow breathing cleared up and suddenly an announcement was made for people to begin boarding the plane.
"The slogan is engraved in my mind." Lauren kissed my cheek and grabbed her bags, walking towards the entrance of the plane. Midway through she dropped her bags and ran back to me, not letting me react fast enough to what she was doing. I closed my eyes, savoring her soft lips on mine and she grabbed both sides of my face, deepening the kiss as best she could. I let my arms circle around her waist and my body relaxed at her touch. My heart was racing and I held her close, not wanting to let her go.
"Y/N..." Lauren mumbled against my lips and I hesitantly pulled away. "I'll see you soon. We'll be together again, just give it time." Lauren's words of reassurance worked like a charm and I loosened my grip around her waist, watching as she boarded the plane. As soon as she was out of sight, I felt empty, and I wasn't able to keep my mind off of our last kiss. Lauren and I never kissed like this, well, we did kiss a lot but it would always be quick pecks but this certain kiss made my head spin. It made feel something I couldn't describe with words.
"Y/N can we take a picture?" A fan asked and without a second thought, my lips planted themselves on her cheek. She smiled widely and I kept my position until she had moved away.
"Thank you." The girl replied breathlessly and I happily nodded, greeting everyone who recognized me. An hour had elapsed by the time I got out of the airport so I hailed a cab and decided to head back to my studio.
"Julian I need your help to write a song as soon as possible." I plopped down on the couch and Julian Bunett faced me, putting his pencil down and stopping what he was doing.
"I have two hours before another singer stops by for a studio session. Let's get writing." Julian tossed me a notepad and I talked to him about my feelings, in hopes of being able to come up with some lyrics but all I got down on my paper was random words combined to make a sentence.
"I didn't know you had someone else here. Should I come back another time?" A familiar voice said and my head shot up to see Selena at the doorway. Julian welcomed her in and I got up to hug her but she put her hands out to stop me. I groaned and pushed past Selena, heading out of the studio to take a walk. I needed some inspiration, I needed to write more than one song in order to get back to Lauren and I wasn't going to sleep until I was by her side again.
