Miraculous - A Twist Of Fate

Painful Words

The three beams hit Marinette right in her heart, she felt it darken before her. The pain stung like an arrow through her chest.

Marinette's knees fell, Chat Noir caught her in his arms before she hit the ground. "Marinette.. Are you okay?" He asked while staring deeply into her bluebell eyes.

Marinette's lips turned purple and her eyes turned blood red. "Chat... No-oir... I... hate you... I HATE YOU!!!" Marinette shouted while pushing him off her.

Chat Noir stared, eyes wide, he couldn't believe that his love just said that to him. Chat Noir has protected Ladybug many times, like how he saved her from the arrow from Dark Cupid, how he sacrificed his life from Time Breaker, but this had to be the one time where he didn't save her.

Chat Noir felt like bursting into tears right there and then, but he had more important matters at hand:

He had to save Marinette.

All these times, Ladybug saved Chat Noir. It's like the princess saving the hero, it's wrong. Chat Noir wanted to prove that he and Ladybug were a team, not only that,

Prove his pure love for her.

Anger, Envy and Hatred grinned at Marinette. "Seems like we have a new minion." Envy joked. "Attack Chat Noir, take his miraculous!". Marinette nodded. "Let's wait until our little Ladybug gets here." Hatred said while crossing her arms.

The three walked away, leaving Marinette and Chat Noir all alone. Marinette glared at Chat Noir angrily. "You're such a bad kitty, you deserve a punishment." Marinette said while getting in a usual fighting stand.

"I don't want to hurt you, Marinette, I couldn't bare to see you in pain." Chat Noir said while backing away. "Your kindness is disgusting, I hate everything about you. To think I was actually getting feelings for you... I was such a fool!!" Marinette shouted, her red eyes narrowing.

Marinette lunged forward while clenching her fist. She swung it at his face, Chat Noir closed his eyes tightly, waiting for the pain.

Chat Noir opened one eye to see Marinette's fist inches away from his head. Marinette's eyes were shut as if she was in deep pain. Chat Noir noticed the purple lipstick was fading slightly. Marinette managed to say something, despite her pain.

"Chat.. Go... Go now! I- I can't hold it back much longer!... Whatever I s-say, remember that I'll always lo-"

Marinette delivered a high-pitch scream. The purple lipstick reappeared. Chat Noir ran away while he could, he had to find a way to save Marinette.

Chat Noir ran out of the school and into the street, out of breath by how fast he ran. Chat Noir hid behind a nearby house.

Where is this place? I feel like I've been here before. Chat Noir thought to himself. He looked up and saw a bakery sign. This is Marinette's house!

Chat Noir opened the door and looked up as the bell rang. "Chat Noir, you're here!!" Exclaimed Mr Dupain-Cheng after jumping out from behind the shop's counter.

"Thank goodness you're here. Have you seen our daughter, Marinette? You know, dark blue hair, sky blue eyes." Mrs Dupain-Cheng asked.

"Yes.. But, I'm afraid that she's... Changed slightly.." Chat Noir said while looking at the floor nervously. "What do you mean?" Asked Marinette's mother, looking worried.

"It's hard to explain. But.. I don't know how to change her back..." Chat Noir said, not noticing the tears in his eyes.

"What exactly happened to her? We might be able to help." Asked Marinette's father. Chat Noir looked out the shop window.

He saw innocent people being attacked by Anger, Envy, and Hatred. Chat Noir wanted to help them, but something inside him stopped him.

Like something wasn't there. The courage and kindness to help just wasn't in him anymore.

Why?

There was one clear reason. He wanted Ladybug back.

No,

He needed Ladybug back.

Chat Noir snapped out of his dream world. "She got hit by an akumatized villan, all she now feels is anger, envy and hatred." Chat Noir said while looking away, afraid that he will cry.

Marinette's parents suddenly looked very shocked. Mrs Dupain-Cheng covered her face with her hands as she began to cry. "Oh, dear... that's terrible.." Said Marinette's father with a concerned face.

"Has Marinette been acting... weirdly recently?" Asked Chat Noir, trying to figure out clues to cure Marinette.

"Well, Marinette has been acting differently ever since the new school year. I saw her shape her peas last night into a love heart." Explained Marinette's mother.

"Yes. Also, there's pictures of this boy all over her room." Marinette's father added. Chat Noir's eyes opened wide. "May I have a look?" He asked, suddenly excited.

The three climbed up the stairs of the house. Chat Noir looked at all the pictures of Marinette as he walked.

"Haha, this picture was when she covered her whole face in ice cream!" Explained Marinette's father. "Marinette was four years old, then."

"She was such a cutie when she was little." Said Marinette's mother.

"She still is..." Chat Noir said dreamily. Suddenly he noticed what he said and went as red as a tomato. "Uh, I mean, when she was little."

They laughed together. Marinette's father opened the hatch the Matinette's room.

"Here's her room. She grew up here." Said Marinette's mother happily. Chat Noir stepped up and into her room. Straight away he noticed pictures of himself, hanging throughout the room.

Marinette has pictures of me?! All over her room?! Wow, who knew the person I loved for so long turned out to have pictures of the real me all over her wall?

"Do you know who this boy is?" Asked Marinette's father. Chat Noir suddenly got nervous and looked at him weirdly. "Uh, yeah... his name is Adrien Agreste, he's a friend of mine."

"Ah, I see. He seems perfect for our Marinette." Marinette's mother said happily. Chat Noir suddenly went red again.

"Really? You think so?" Chat Noir asked shyly. "Oh! Thanks for the tour, but I think I've finally found out a way to save Marinette!" Chat Noir said as he ran out of the house and back into the streets of Paris.
