To The TARDIS or To Hogwarts

Chapter 1

  What would happen if you could go to your favorite fantasy world?  

To The TARDIS or To Hogwarts?

I was faced with this question when I came across a picture on the Internet. It displayed several options. Sherlock and John's flat at 221B Baker Street, Mordor (with two o's), the door to Bag End, Hogwarts, and the door to the TARDIS. In one version I even saw Monster's INC among others. Almost forgot about Supernatural but I forget what their door was. I think it was the door to The Men of Letters bunker. I just now remembered the door to The Avenger's Tower. Hmm. How easily we forget so small of details when challenged with such a tough decision.

I started out by analyzing them like any good detective would. In the spirit of detective work, I started with Sherlock and John. I would love to know the great Sherlock Holmes but what would my character be. (Assuming that if we traveled to an alternate universe we would have a major role in the story line.) Would I be a villain or a hero. Or, as I gulped, the victim. I really do not want to get killed in an alternate universe. That is the worst case scenario. Let's look on the bright side. If I am a hero and help the characters solve a case, I know I won't get emotionally attached because eventually I will get home, right? Or will there be no return. (Cue maniacal cackle that leads to a coughing fit.) Do I really want to stay in London all of my life solving crimes with Sherlock? Of course I do. It would be a great pick except for the possibility of being a super villain.

Well one crossed of the list. Let's go on to Bag End. This should be pretty easy. I definitely do not want to travel with Frodo. That was just to dangerous. Bilbo may have battled a dragon and some trolls but at least there was gold. (If you do go to this universe write a nice note to the trolls. Please include the following message. Why were dwarves so delicious? Why not make some rabbit stew or something? You would only need one hundred or so.) Alright getting back on topic. Does this device give you the power to choose your role. If so I would be a witch and I would be adding on to the number of Isatari. Perhaps I would create a new name or keep my own. Hmm...What colors start with an E or L that would look good as a robe.

Alright I am back.

Color starting with E, L, or J

-Emerald, eggplant, or ecru

- Jade

-Lavender, Lime(4 shades of this), Lemon(2 shades of this)

Jade is similar in shade to Emerald and both are very beautiful. I don't really like purple or yellow. Lizzy the lemon chiffon sounds funny. Oh sorry I typed 4 shades of lime. Guess what there are five.

Should my name be Elizabeth the Emerald or Jane the Jade? I am thinking Jane the Jade. A jade cloak would be nice along with near immortality. If I was wise and respected by all I would always be flooded with questions. Dealing with elves would not be very bad unless it is Thranduil. (I am sure he is a pain.) Probably not going to Middle Earth either through Bag End or Mordoor.(Ha ha. I laugh at that every time.)

Moving on to the next door. Let's check my list. Three down, two to go.

-Hogwarts

-TARDIS

Would Hogwarts really be such a great destination? Sure in the books there was lots of adventure but now if I went it would be the second generation. Instead Harry Potter I would know James and Albus. I may still have the adventures but they are not the reason I joined the fandom. Again what role would I play in the story. A hero or the next Riddle. I finally decide not to go to Hogwarts.

Now I am left with but one option, the TARDIS. I have my reservations, not knowing which Doctor I will join. Will it be Classic Who or the reboot. Either way there are a few regenerations I am not fond of. If this were real I would go and see the Doctor.

As soon as I say this aloud I hear a whooshing sound, the room begins to shake like an earthquake and then everything goes dark. It becomes quiet enough for one to hear their own heartbeat. And what I finally see I can not believe.
