Chapter 5
"Ah, Edward. Are you breaking the rules again?" Caius asked, laughing darkly to himself.
"What are you doing here? Why do you insist on doing this to us." Edward growled.
I stared at the man named Caius, who was staring at me with an evil looking smile on his sheet white skinned face.
But I did not feel afraid of him. He seemed to not be scary at all. Usually I would have been scared, but something inside me was rising, something that was stronger than he could ever be.
"My sources said that there was a human in on our secret,.and I was sure you would be involved, I mean after the same thing happened with Isabella."
"You ate using this as an excuse to fight us. I can see that now, Caius. You can't block me from hearing that thought."
"She is not supposed to know about us, Edward. She has to die or become a vampire, right now. If she doesn't become a vampire, I will have to kill her."
"You know what you are doing. You think you can just have her? You'll have to fight us first."
"Or I could just take her, Edward. She is a powerful human. I mean, Alice can't see her, Jasper can't change or feel her emotions, and you can't even hear all of her thoughts. That is amazing, I must admit."
"She's not full human though." Edward said, and Seth snarled in agreement.
"Then what is she?" Caius asked. He was still smirking evilly towards where I was standing.
"I cannot tell you what she is, because I am not sure of what she is. But I can tell you what she isn't." Edward explained to him, trying to get Caius' mind off of killing me.
Caius nodded, featuring for him to continue, and to tell him what I wasn't. I looked at Edward, not knowing what be was talking about. I was human, wasn't I?
"She is not a vampire, werewolf, hybrid, full human or demon. That is all I can tell you."
I am not a full human? Was Edward crazy? If course I was a human. How could I be anything else?
"Then if you want the little darling to live, you will let me take her. otherwise I'll kill you, her and the mutt." He snarled.
That was the moment I snapped. He would not be hurting my family. He would not be hurting Seth. If he even tried, I would kill him myself. if he even said that again, I would shred his stone body until it was concrete powder.
"Caius." I said sweetly, trying to be calm as I spoke to him. He glanced at me.
"Yes, dear one? Do you need to say something?" He asked, and the smirk had momentarily vanished.
"Yes. You will not even think of hurting them. If you even mention the idea again I will kill you will my two bare hands." I said in a calm, cold voice.
"Ah, that's something I'd like to see you try." He smiled at me, and his mouth opened again.
"I will kill Edward quickly, and then kill the dog slowly, and he will scream out in agony as I break every bone in his body one at a time. And I'll tie you to the tree so you will have to watch the whole thing."
My anger reached the tipping point. My blood boiled in my veins and m heart thudded loudly in my chest. I knew something was going to happen. Seth was mine and I was his and I wasn't about to let Caius end that so quickly. I wasn't going down without a fight.
Thunder crackles in the sky, and lighting shot out right beside me. Rain poured from the skies, hitting only Caius.
The ground shuddered, shaking Caius, and he fell to the ground. I was surrounded by the whipping winds of a tornado, and it took me up and towards Caius. He screamed at me to let him go, but I just smiled.
"Mercy is a weakness. You were trying to take me, but you will not. I will go to the Volturi on my terms, maybe even let their castle feel my wrath. But no one will hurt my family. If they do, they'll burn in hell. And I will take them there myself."
I was surprised by my cold, scary words. Everyone else seemed like that too.
Out of no where, the rest of the Cullen and other vampires appeared, and gasped at my power.
Wings suddenly burst out of my back, and hot, smoking flames were crackling against them. The wings were jet black, and very large. Caius suddenly seemed more scared than ever.
I smiled at him again, ripping his stone head off of his body. His head dropped to the ground, the blonde hair suddenly looking just as dead as he surely was.
I took a handful of the flames from my wings, and let his head and body burn to ashes. The ashes flew into my tornado, where they themselves disintegrated.
With him dead,.my anger was gone,y happiness was back and my family was at least safe for now.
My wings retracted back, and the storm stopped. The ground became very still again, and the clouds and thunder disappeared. The lightning stopped and the tornado disappeared from beneath me. I fell to my knees, having no more energy. I couldn't even try to get on my two feet again. I,was struggling to just keep my eyes open.
I knew I was going to pass out again. My head was whirling, and my senses were threatening to crash. I reached my arms out, trying to stop myself from hitting my head on the ground. My arms stopped moving and I fell forward, my eyes closing.
But Seth was back in his human form, and he caught me before my head could hit the hard ground.
