Chapter 2 Meet Alison

Alison was sitting on the bench when Alex broke her ankle. She watched the coach and her parents run out to her sister, she watched the ambulance take off to the nearest hospital, and she watched the umpire talk to her coach. A few minutes later, her aunt showed up. "Hi Lockwood," Aunt Carol told the coach as she walked to the dugout.
"Alison, Alex broke her ankle with a slight fracture. She's in the hospital and they are keeping her overnight."
"Really? That's terrible! Do you know how long she has to stay off it?" Alison replied.
"Not sure, but your staying with me tonight. If you want, we can go to the hospital and see her now. We can stop and get food for you and her on the way," Aunt Carol said
"Okay, but how am I getting my stuff to stay the night?"
"Your mom had your change of clothes for your cousins birthday party, all we have to do is get you some pajamas."
"Okay"
On the ride to the hospital, They stopped at Lucy's, a very popular restaurant, for takeout. They were going to wait to eat with Alex. Alison began to read one of her favorite books "Historical Facts and City History". Alison was kind of a nerd. She loved school, she had braces, glasses, and basically never broke any rules. After reading for a while her eyes began to feel heavy, until everything went black.

"BEEP"
Alison woke up suddenly to the noise. She looked over at her aunt who had a nervous look on her face.
"What happened?"
"Well a guy ran a huge intersection stoplight and almost hit us. He caused a collision over there" she pointed to the other road across from them,"luckily the police were behind me and I believe they stopped him
up this road, but we are fine. We'll be at the hospital in two minutes."

Just as her aunt said, two minutes later they were at the hospital. They walked in and after signing in, went straight to Alex's room.
