"You owe me a new lighter." Chris said as I got into my car.

"Actually no, I don't, because I saved your ass." I said.

"Fine. You win." Chris said.

"Bye Chris." I said as I closed my door. I started my car and backed out of the woods. Chris waved at me as I drove away.

As I drove back to the safe house, I felt the guilt slowly start to swallow me. I had killed at least 20 mean tonight. Now I'm going back home to Josh like it was a normal day. I don't even know of those men had a family, a wife. Stop. Stop thinking like this or else you'll never stop. The guilt wouldn't stop. What would Josh think of me? He would surely think I'm some kind of monster. I'm no better than my father. The only difference between me and him is that I would never hurt my child. Josh is going to know what I did, and he'll leave me. And I wouldn't blame him. He doesn't deserve this. He deserves a girl who's beautiful, kind, and has a soft heart. He doesn't deserve a girl who is nothing but ugly on the inside. I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes, but I forced them back. I can't cry. I tuned up the music in my car to tune out my thoughts and drove back home, trying to silence my demons.

I quickly arrived back at the safe house. I turned off my car and just sat there, trying to calm myself down. I took a deep breath. You can this. Don't cry. Don't let him know. After one last deep breath, I got out of my car and went inside the house.

"Thank God." Josh said once I entered the house. He was coming back from the kitchen, Dylan following him.

"I was worried." Josh said. He took my face in his hands to inspect my face, looking for any bruises. I know that he saw the blood, but he was ignoring it. After he didn't find any bruises, he kissed me. I closed my eyes, savoring his kiss, knowing that this will the last time he'll kiss me. He pulled away sooner than I wanted. I noticed that Dylan was standing behind us, looking away. I stepped out of Josh's arms.

"Thank you." I said to Dylan.

"Well I had quite an exciting night. I didn't know your visitor was so... well known." Dylan said, looking at me.

"Did I forget to mention that?" I asked innocently.

"Yeah. You did. I want to talk to you. Alone." Dylan said, looking at Josh. I saw Josh take a step forward, but I stopped him.

"Josh, it's okay. I'm a big girl, I can handle him." I said softly.

"Delilah..." Josh whispered. I kissed him.

"It's okay. I'll make it quick." I said, pulling away. Josh nodded and headed into the living room. I headed into the kitchen, Dylan hot on my heels.

"What were you thinking?" Dylan says once we were in the kitchen. "Getting involved with someone like him?"

"I know what I'm doing." I said sternly.

"No, you don't " Dylan said, "If you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't be sleeping with him."

"I'm not sleeping with him." I said.

"It doesn't matter, do you realize what will happen if people find out about this, if the police find out about this? We would all get our asses landed in jail. And it would be all your fault." Dylan said, pacing back and forth.

"That won't happen. I've been careful and he won't tell." I said, crossing my arms.

"He knows?!" Dylan said, hysterical.
