Lila's Choice: Marriage or Homelessness

Prologue

I hope you all like it and I really appreciate anyone who reads this.  Comments would be great because I always want to make this story better so I would appreciate criticism greatly or know that some parts are actually good which isn't bad either. Oh yeah, last but not least.  If you find any spelling or grammatical error, please tell me and I will change it immediately.  This chapter kept getting shorter over the years.  Before it was a rather long, badly-written prologue, then prologue/first chapter which was like 4000 words and awhile ago it was a very short prologue which I was actually satisfied with for once, but that lasted a couple months.  Now I have this.

I am a coward.  It is as simple as that at least for the people that are not my friends.  They see the situation for what it is but they can also be close-minded while friends look beyond the situation and are understanding but they can let their emotions get in the way.  And you may ask what am I being cowardly about?  A boy, but not any boy; his name is Nate Eransdale.

It all started when I was two weeks old and my mother placed me in this institution; it would be my life for the next seventeen years, eleven months, one week, and six days.  According to all the adults here, I was one of the lucky ones.  

I was one of 3000 students who were chosen randomly by the government.  The prize being $10,000,000.  What is the catch?  On my seventeenth birthday, I have to marry one of the male students that was born on the same day as me in order to have the money and to see my parents again.

What is my problem?  There is one boy and another girl that was born on that day.  Two girls and one boy just does not add up.  I also forgot to mention that I hate this boy and it is none other than Nate, the boy who broke my heart.

This was a life I never wanted, but unfortunately it was the life I got.

Please comment on the little I've written.  I really can't say when I'll have the first chapter done.
