Lila's Choice: Marriage or Homelessness

Lila Jacobs is attending Smanville Institution of Education, but it’s not like any other institution in the world. By seventeen, Lila will not only have to be married to a male student, but to someone who was born on the same day.

"Don't you understand? I'd rather be alone." She said in denial, shaking her head.

"We both know that is not true." He tilted her chin up staring into her hazel eyes.

She tried to push him away, but he held onto her wrist. "Nate, please."

He snorted. "You would rather be homeless. Unbelievable."

She nodded, trying to remember all the reasons she hated him.

He finally let go of her wrist after a couple of moments and walked away.
