I ran and ran and ran as fast as I could. Trying to run away from my problem. They were gonna be after me. I killed an innocent. Not the first innocent I killed. But I promised myself that I would never ever kill another innocent for as long as I live. When I first killed an innocent it felt horrible. Not only because it was my father, but because the look on his face as it happened tore my heart to pieces. I heard footsteps running behind me and I ran faster. I wasn't scared, I just know how to survive. I snuck a look behind me and saw that it was only Laken. I slowed down and let her catch up.
"Girl, you run fast." I laughed as she tried to catch her breath.
"I heard what happened. Derek's pretty worried, but he didn't wanna bother you. He's at Stiles' house. The cops are on the lookout for you and him." she caught me up on what was happening. I stood there, reluctant to go back.
"I can't," I admitted. Refusing to look Laken in the eyes.
"Oh come on, we can watch movies. There's Pepsi," she said, stretching the word 'pepsi' out in a sing song voice. I gave a small smile and gave in. We walked back together.
"Were you scared?" Laken said finally breaking the silence. I let out a low growl. Me? Scared? Never! "Right, sorry, forgot. Fearless," We reached Stiles' house and walked in. Derek sprinted toward me and tackled me in a hug.
"I was worried," he whispered in my hair. I chuckled.
"You shouldn't be. Nobody worries about little ole me," I said, looking down. I sensed Laken and Stiles walk out of the room. Derek put his hand on my chin and lifted my face so I was looking at his green eyes.
     "I do,"
"Why?" I questioned. I've never been close to anyone. I lose anyone I love, so I just stopped loving. I don't want to get close to Derek. I'm a monster.
"I, uh, care about you, Dani," Derek said with a cough.
"I'm a monster, Derek. How can you care about a monster?"
"You're not a monster. You're a werewolf, like me!" Derek said with a heart melting smile. "A very pretty one if I might add," he added with a wink. I threw my head back and laughed. This boy had a way with words. All in one motion Derek's lips collided with mine. I was shocked at first but quickly answered, kissing him back. I knew later I would regret this, but right now, I was living in the moment. I didn't want it to end, but it had to. I broke the kiss, but he leaned in, early not wanting it to end either.
"Laken and Stiles could be watching, they'd never let us hear the end of it,"
"Too late!" Stiles hollered. Derek glared at Stiles and growled at him.
"Easy tiger," I joked. Derek chuckled and kissed my cheek, heading outside. Stiles and Laken headed to the couch and sat down, turning on the T.V. Laken snuggled into his side and he wrapped his arms protectively around her. I sat in the recliner and a few minutes later I was asleep.
Chains. They were around my wrists and my ankles. Keeping raised in the air so I couldn't move and could barely breath. There were three men in weird outfits and masks on. The word doctors came to mind. One had a very large saw thing and another had a surgical blade.
"Hey! I don't remember making an appointment! Let me go! Now!" They never spoke. Its like they never even heard me. "Derek! Please help me!" I screamed as loud as I could, dragging out me. Soon my screams turned into loud howls. Howls of pain.
"Dani! Dani wake up!" I jolted up and saw Audrey over me. Derek was right beside her. Laken and Stiles were behind them, worried plastered over their faces.
"You were growling and you kinda tore the recliner to shreds." Stiles said. I looked at the recliner to see the springs sticking out and fuzz everywhere. Sarah started to pull some of it out of my hair.
     "Just a bad dream."
