Shannen Romance's POV

"Kill me now!" I said in between sobs.

"But I can't kill you! I love you." He replied in a broken voice.

"Love will not save us. Nothing can save us from this curse. From the beginning, one of us is bound to die." I said in a voice full of conviction.

He just stared at me with his eyes full of tears.

"Don't think of anything. Just remember what you're tasked to do. This is the best for the both of us." I said as I escaped his gaze.

I can't stand seeing him like this. He is my love, my definition of freedom, my everything. But he's also the answer of my prayers. He's the commencement of my journey to death. He's cursed to kill me.

"Shannen, we'll find a way to end the curse, t...t...to disarm it." He stuttered.

"There's no other way. Killing me is your fate, love." I gathered the courage to say.

I walked near him and I held his right hand as I helped him point the golden dagger towards my heart.

"This is it. There's no turning back. Always remember that I love you even after I die." I told him as I pushed his hand towards my heart then I let go of it and felt the dagger penetrating inside my chest.

"Goodbye my love. I love you." Those are my last words as I closed my eyes.

"Rome! Rome! Wake up. You're having a nightmare again." I heard my mom yelling while waking me up.

Hul~ So I dreamed of it again. I've been dreaming about it for the past days. Same scenario, same conversation but I still can't see the face of my killer. All I can see is his silhouette.

"Mom! You can stop shaking me now." I said in an irritated tone.

"Are you okay? These past days you're always having a nightmare and you won't even tell me what it is about." Mom replied with concern evident in her face.

"It's nothing Mom." I said nonchalantly.

"Okay. I'll let you slip off again but you have to tell me about it in one of these days." She said and exited my room.

I know that my reoccurring dreams have something to do with my silent prayers but how can I tell my mother that I want to die? That I want to escape from this curse. It'll surely break her heart if I tell her about it.

With that thoughts, I stood up from my bed and went to the bathroom. I need to freshen up first.

"Rome! Breakfast is ready." My father yelled from the stairs.

"Okay Dad. I'll be down in a bit." I replied while changing my clothes.

"Good Morning my sunshine." My father greeted me.

"Dad! I'm not a kid anymore. Stop calling me your sunshine." I whined.

"So what do you want me to call you? My sunset?" Father said while grinning.

"Lame joke Dad!" I rolled my eyes.

"Rome! You're acting like a brat now." Mom said and eyed me.

"I'm sorry Mom, Dad." I said apologetically.

"Okay. Let's eat now. It's bad to let the food wait." Mother said and we started eating.

"Rome your 16th birthday is coming soon." Father said after swallowing his food.

"What's your wish?" Mother added.

Should I tell them about my morbid wish? I internally debated with myself.

"Mom, Dad..." I started my sentence.

I should tell them now, once and for all. My wish itself is already so selfish. I should at least tell them about it. I know they won't allow me but I need to take a risk or I might regret this forever, literally.

"...I want to search for my killer before I get 18 or else I'll live alone forever. I don't want that to happen Mom and Dad. It's better to die first than to see you both dying and leaving me alone. That'll break me more." I confessed.

"What?!" They both replied in a shocked tone. My father even choked from his food.

"We can't let you do it, Rome! We can't afford to lose you. You're our precious daughter." Mother replied while still in shock.

"Your mother's right! We can't let you search you're killer. Please consider our feelings, Rome." Father said in a serious tone.

Their feelings?

"But how about mine? So do you want me to be immortal and live a pathetic life alone?" I retorted.

"Rome, it's not what we mean! You're our only child. No parents will ever let there child die before them. You're our bundle of joy." Mother replied as tears slowly formed in her eyes.

"But Mom! Dad!" I looked at them simultaneously.

"No buts, Rome. Our decision is final." Father said and went out of the dining hall.

My mom and I are left in the table. My eyes are now full of tears so as my mother's eyes.

"I'll go out for a bit, Mom." I said in a shaky voice.

"You can't go out Rome. You know your boundaries." She said worriedly.

"The heck with that boundaries!" I screamed and run outside.

My mother's left hanging in the table.

I don't care if I'm acting like a total bitch right now. I just need to sort out my thoughts and emotions.

I aimlessly run outside.

"Ouch!" I said as I bumped into someone.

"Miss, are you okay? I'm sorry I wasn't looking in my way." I heard him talking but I just run again.

I can't be distracted by just someone.

"Miss! Hey! I'm sorry. What's your name?" He yelled.

I didn't bother looking at him again. Why is he so persistent? I run and run until I reached the abandoned theme park.
