"Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?" -Abraham Lincoln

(Previously in so many minutes before Racing)-

"It's dangerous out there." said John.

"I know." I said coolly.

"You think that you can actually do this?" He wondered quite questionably.

"What other chances are there? You think that I should just roll over and give up? Pablo won't even stand a chance against the incinerating heat energies out there, it's a very harsh environment, he's planning something to get even with me. I just know it." I said.

John sighed as his face changed with confusion and fear, "You're racing to your death, James. Pablo is cheating on you, the minute he abandons his posts, the better for us to get everyone out of here, to their SAFETY on TIME. Are you sure that you can handle this without our own help? Without any communications whatsoever?" I sighed in my own frustration.

"You think that I had no other choices, John?" I asked him. His face was pale, and his eyes were sweating with some concerns that I had never seen this from him before. "You think that I don't know what's going on with this race? You think that I am a coward?!"

"Where did this new attitude come from? I didn't say that you didn't James, I said that there could be some unexpected climate changes out there, just don't let him lead you into those dangerous methane zones, okay?" He said concernedly as he stretched out his own legs.

"Sure John, whatever." I said before I left to get started racing my only messed up brother.

***

It seems like only five minutes ago. Or I could be wrong, but I was never this wrong before in my life to be honest. Heck, I could fly for only twenty minutes, and that still wouldn't make a difference, still the only thing that was good for me, was eating before I left to race my idiotic, and messed up brother. I still think that his plans were crazy, I still think that his minions are crazy. I still think that every bit of thing that I would think about was crazy... But... I'm still half human, and that's not crazy. To me, nothing on earth is crazy except war, abuse, diseases and life is just crazy. And that's it.

"Where's Nathaniel when you need him, huh James?!" I heard Pablo ask me rhetorically with a small grin across his ugly face. Now I recognize where he got that form of a half bird, half animal kind of creature from... The mythology book... On earth... A griffin... I should've known...

"Where's your flying monkeys?!" I asked him sarcastically.

"Ah! You should be grateful brother! This is only just the beginning!" He said coolly.

"What do you mean the beginning?! You're not ditching me and leaving me out here in the desert for good are you, Brother?!" I asked him, puzzled with confusion and suspicion.

"On the contrary James," he said coolly, "I have something much more planned than just a silly race!" I looked at him with my angry eyes wide open, hoping to see him lie to my face again one more time like the last times when we were all here. Breathing, alive, and clawing to every breath. I guess you could say that mostly half of us in the village were lucky to survive.

"What do you mean?!" I asked him again.

"I'll tell you after the second rounds are over! Just follow my lead, okay?!" asked Pablo, I didn't know wither to trust him right now or not, but my guts say that I should, even if his ideas do sound a little bit crazy over the tops of his messed-up head.

I nodded my head, and looked at his neck with one quick glance, the crystal necklace that he was wearing, that made him crazy when I first met him, was just gone. Just gone. Now I know why, or I think I would know why, he wanted me to play with his own leads before this ends, not just with everyone's life, but it would probably end with my life too.
