Keep me brave

I always considered myself as a really patient person. But that day I was so nervous and impatient. It was my first day of my final year in college. This meant that I only had one more year to figure myself out before I entered the real adulthood. I mean, yes, I was pretty much already an adult but I just didn't feel that way. I was always a really outgoing person, I couldn't imagine myself being at home at weekends and being responsible. I just loved my friends,clubs and dancing more than anything.

Just when I was about to turn around in my seat to talk to my best friend Lexa about our next party, I heard the doors opening. I think in my 23 years od exsistence I will never forget that moment. I know it sounds cliche and I was never a person who believed in love at first sight and all that bullshit but something about that moment,something about her was so captivating that I was so speechless. It wasn't exactly love but it was something strange. When she entered the room the whole world stopped. At least for me. When she smiled she seemed so nervous and so shy and her hair was all over the place and I thought it was so cute and so beautiful.

After our periods ended, Lexa and I decided to go grab a lunch. Just when we were about to leave the classroom I heard the most beautiful angelic voice. "Sorry guys, I'm new here and I really don't know anyone, can you please tell me where is the caffeteria? Oh and by the way my name is Camila." She smiled again and looked at us. I looked at her and said: "Yes sure,we are actually going that way so you can come with us if you like. And my name is Lauren and this is my best friend Lexa." I said before I realised what I just asked her. Thankfully she agreed to go with us. I learned that she just moved from New York and she didn't really know anyone here in Los Angeles. I felt pretty bad for her because I couldn't imagine myself being alone in the City of Angels. Thankfully Lexa was with us and she pretty much saved me by talking with Camila because I was too busy staring at her eyes and lips. And just at her because she was so fucking gorgeous. Lexa noticed my obsession with the brown eyed girl and invited her to our party that we held every year on our first day of college. Camila was a little bit hesitant but Lexa assured her that it will be fun and welcoming. I was still busy with staring at her. Then she looked at me and asked me if it was okay if she came. She probably thought that I didn't like her or something because I was so quiet but that was so far from the truth. I told her that I would be very happy if she comes and then I heard Lexa whispering to me: "Of course you would." I almost blushed and killed my best friend.

Later that day when Lexa and I were in our dorm she just couldn't stop teasing me. "Oh come on Lauren, don't tell me you wouldn't like to take her to bed. She is fucking gorgeous!" she almost screamed. "Wow Lexa, I thought you preffer blondes. What would Clarke say if she heard you?" I teased back. "Don't worry about Clarke, she knows she is the only woman in my life." Lexa answered with a smile.
I have known Lexa for 17 years now and she was one of the most important people in my life. She was the most genuine,honest and humble person I have ever met. She helped me to become the person I was today especially after my parents died. I honestly don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for her. She had a girlfriend named Clarke for 5 years now and they were the most beautiful couple I have ever seen. They were engaged for 6 months now. They were so in love and Clarke was an absolute sweetheart and we became such good friends during their relationship. They really gave me hope that true love exists. I was so excited to go the party tonight because I really missed my college friends. I really didn't like to overdress myself so I went with simple skinny black jeans,white blouse with a little bit of cleveage and black high heels. I didn't put much make up on but red lipstick was like my thing every time I went out. Lexa looked beautiful with skinny red dress and black high heels. "So Lex, is Clarke coming?" I asked her because I knew that Clarke really had a busy schedule because she was opening her first gallery next month. "Yeah, she is finally coming, so if you don't mind you should find another room tonight." she said and laughed. "Oh my god Lex you're gross." I started teasing her althought I wouldn't mind.

We were finally done and we made our way to the beach where the party was held. It was really crowded and I had a feeling that I will have a great night. We made our way to the bar when I heard a familiar angelic voice. "Hi guys I hope you remember me." Camila said and smiled. "How could I forget,I thought." But then I heard Lexa laughing at me and I realised I said it out loud. I was so fucking red and I tried to cover it up by saying that I had a few drinks but of course Lexa had to speak again and let Camila know that we just came here and ordered our first drink. I wanted to kill Lexa so bad! But hey that's what best friends are here for. Camila just looked at me and bit her lip. I almost chocked on my drink. I had a feeling she was doing it on purpose. Just when I was about to say something I heard someone screaming and I immediately knew who it was. Only Clarke would be so excited to see her girlfriend. They exchanged kisses and then we introduced Clarke to Camila and they decided to go take a walk which meant leaving Camila and me alone.

When we were alone I looked at her and said: "So Camila,what would you like to drink? "Shots of course. Who do you think I am?" she said in a flirty tone and bit her lip again. I think I stopped breathing for a second. "Wow easy there tiger I don't want to carry you to your dorm before the party even started." I teased her. "Don't worry about me Lauren,I can take care of myself." she said and turned around to order a drink "Excuse me,can I have two tequillas please? she ordered and waited for our drinks to be delivered. I just couldn't help myself and I leaned in and whispered to her ear: "If you are so brave you wouldn't mind if I do body shots on you?" I said and licked my lips. She looked at me and I saw a mix of excitement,lust and something I couldn't quite figure out in her eyes before she leaned in and whispered: "Sorry Lauren, I'm not into girls."
