Superhuman (Ereri/Riren AU Fanfiction) [Hiatus Indefinitely]

Chapter 1

"And where am I putting this?" Eren asked, holding up a flask, filled with a bright teal liquid.

Armin looked up, and took his goggles off, studying the substance from afar. He put his glasses on and read the label.

"That would go into the purple one, but make sure you don't pour in the whole thing." He finally answered, resuming his crouched position at his lab table.

Eren nodded and did as he was told, only putting in half of the amount. Nothing happened so he recorded the measurement, and waited for Armin.

The blonde blue eyed Chemist turned on the heat, a small smile prominent on his very feminine features.

"There. Hopefully this works."

Suddenly the solution started to boil, and it went up, traveling to different beakers and tubes, all different shapes and sizes, each carrying a different substance.

"So far so good, eh?" Armin nodded and held up a finger signaling to be quiet.

Eren shot up his hands in a defensive stance, and mouthed an 'alright'.

The boys waited and watched, seeing the liquids merge and change colors, in hopes of creating a cool substance as a result.

However it stopped, making Armin's brows furrow in confusion.

"Is it alright?" Eren asked, looking between the two. Armin shook his head.

"Well, it can't physically be alright since it's not a living thing, but it's definitely not okay. I don't know what went wrong. My calculations should of been 100% percent correct."

"Well, things go wrong." Eren shrugged earning a glare from Armin.

"Things I do, never go wrong." Eren swallowed.

"S-sorry." Armin dismissed him with a hand, and paced the floor.

Eren sighed and watched his friend sadly. Suddenly a pop caused Eren to turn his attention to the experiment.

When he saw nothing he brushed it off, and went back to watching Armin.

The sound once again resonated into his ears, and he whipped himself around. Once again seeing nothing, he began to turn himself back, another pop, no several pops causing him to yet again, look at the project.

His eyes widened as he saw the sickly yellowish green liquid boil. He flicked his gaze toward the previous colors and gasped.

"Um, Armin? I think there's a problem."

"Yeah, I already know."

"No I mean...uh..."

"Yes, I'm dumb! I'm stupid...that's why I'm trying to figure this out." Eren groaned.

"I'm not saying that!"

"Then what Eren?!"

"It's green! Last time I checked, light red and light blue don't make green. Correct me if I'm wrong but-"

"No...you aren't. That's strange."

"You think? It's supposed to be purple." Armin paced the floor again, mumbling to himself.

Eren leant in close a stared at it.

"Not to mention, it's boiling."

"Huh?"

"It's-" Armin's eyes widened.

He opened his mouth to scream out a warning but he was too late.
