Ria's POV

I finally arrived back home. It felt good to lay in my bed. I have school tomorrow. I have not been in school for 4 weeks due to treatment. Starting tomorrow I have a half day plan where I go to treatment right after school. My eyes feel heavy and before I know it, I slowly emerge into a deep slumber.

"Ria, school!" My father's stern voice screamed. I took this as a wake up call. Today is the day I return good old Chino Hills High School. I'm not excited about my first day back, but I can't do anything about it. I bounce out of bed and run to the bathroom. I brush my teeth and wash my face. I decide to look nice considering it is my first day back in hopes I can redeem myself and make some new friends. I place the flat iron to my hair, watching the steam fly away. As soon as that's done, I go to my vanity and sit down. I apply a thin streak of winged out eyeliner to my eyes and coat my eyelashes with mascara. I head over to my closet picking out a green jacket, black tee, and light blue jeans. I throw on my white vans and quickly run down the stairs. "Bye dad!" I shout. "No breakfast today Ri?"

I debate on whether or not to eat. "No, I am fine." I flash him a reassuring smile. I grab my bookbag from the coat rack and then step outside, admiring the view before me. The sun was peeking through the palm trees, slowly rising.

I start the car, and drive to the school.

I am dreading the thought of pulling in. I wonder if anyone noticed that I was out. I park in the rear of the school, praying that no one sees me. I walk with my head down to the front of the building.

What if everyone gives me a hard time today? What if I have no one to sit with at lunch? The questions invade my mind but before I have time to think of more, someone slams into me causing me to fall on the concrete.

"Watch where you're going!" A deep voice utters rudely. "Excuse me?"

I scrunch my face from the contact of my body and the concrete, that hurt. I regather myself and look at the boy standing in front of me. He is very attractive.

I take a moment to take in his features. His chocolate hair is swept up and to the side, some blonde highlights evident in his hair. His brown eyes look into my hazel ones. I could see his toned muscles through his black and white baseball tee. I

catch myself staring and look away. "I'm so sorry. Here, please let me help you up. I didn't see where I was going."

He took my hand in his and lifted me up off the ground. "Thanks?" I say, not knowing his name. "Oh I'm Cameron, Cameron Dallas." He smirks and then walks away.

I soon enter the school and go to the main office. Ms.Rogers pushes her glasses down on her nose and gives me a menising glare. "And who are you?" she speaks grimmly.

"Ria Shields. I need a schedule, I was out for medical."

I reply. She turns to her desk and types my name in the computer. She reaches her hand out to the printer and hands me a paper. "Thank you!" I shout as I head out the door and into the hallway. First period I have english. This should be fun.

It takes me a few minutes to find my first class in these narrow and confusing hallways. I finally make it to the classroom, and I earn stares from every student including the teacher.

"Ria, we were expecting your arrival. I am Mr. Johnson. Everyone please welcome her." I laugh shyly and look down. "Ria, sit next to...Tay." I look up and see a girl smiling and waving at me. Her dark brown hair fit her perfectly. By her looks, she seemed very nice and bubbly. I walk over to the empty seat next to her and sit down.
