"Ria! School! Fifteen minutes!" My father's obnoxious yelling fills my senses. I groan loudly into my pillow, trying to savor my last few seconds in my comfortable bed. I rise out of bed, smiling at the thought of last night. Cameron and I accomplished a lot in so little time. I totally forgot to go to treatment yesterday, which my dad lectured me shortly after I arrived home.

I rub my eyes as I stand up, heading over to the bathroom. I quickly brush my hair and flat iron it to my desired style. I stroll to my vanity in my room and open the left drawer.

I dig for my eyeliner, my hand roaming through a huge pile of makeup. My hand flinches and I pull away when I feel a sharp item. My eyes slowly travel down to my worst enemy. A blade. The sight of the blood dried item triggers me terribly.

I think about the amorous feeling it gives me when I glide it across my paper thin skin; fulfilling. I gape at my left thigh and see my enemies numerous marks. I blink a few times and take a breath, reminding myself that I am getting too lost in this neverending moment. I grab the small tube and open it, applying a thin line to both of my eyelids.

I then search for my mascara, applying a few coats to both of my lashes. I prance to the closet and debate on what to wear. I pick out a lavender hoodie and a basic black pair of leggings. I deposit my white converse to my feet, and proceed out of my room.

I run down the stairs and fetch a protein bar, opening it and take a bite.

With the bar still in my mouth I shout, "Bye dad, love you!" and walk out of the house. I start the car up and drive to school. In about 10 minutes, I'm there. I park in a spot close to the main doors and I prepare myself for a long day.

I look at my schedule and find my locker number and combination. I strut down the main hall and find my locker and I successfully open it.

I shoved bookbag and some books in my locker then shut it. I almost had cardiac arrest when a smiling Cameron was leaning against the locker next to me. "Didn't mean to startle you, just wanted to walk you to 1st period." He lets out a chuckle. "Alrighty." I reply and smile in return.

Me and Cameron exchange our goodbyes and go opposite directions.

I walk into English and sit next to Tay. "Yo Ashley and Sam, come here!" Tay shouts across the room. Both blondes make their way over to us. Ashley introduces herself. Her blonde ringlet curls fall just below her breasts. Ashley has soft brown eyes and many freckles. Sam brightly smiles and her green eyes gleam. Sam has long black straight hair.

"Are you guys going to Jack's party on Saturday?" Tay questions. "Yes! My friends told me his parties are crazy." Ashley exclaims. I have never been to a party. When I was back in Maine, no one has any time to throw parties. It was all about school and work. It was beyond boring.

"Ria, you should def come. It's gonna be really fun." I probably look so stupid because I am overwhelmed with joy that she invited me. "Okay, I will." I smile and can't wait for what Saturday has to offer.

I zoned out for the rest of the period. It went by fast and I found myself in the science room with Cameron.

"So tell me about where you came from before you ended up here in Chino Hills California." Cameron crosses his shoulders and leans back into the chair. "Well, I lived in a town in Maine with my mother and father, went to a boring ass school, lived in a boring ass house, but everything changed after my parents.."

I paused because the memories flashed through my mind and I couldn't talk about it at this time. "What?" He asked, completely clueless.

"My parents got divorced." I said with no emotion written on my face. I needed to vent and that's exactly what I was about to do. "My mom is crazy and I had to leave. I haven't spoken to her in two years." I let out a throaty sigh, trying to hold back the tear that was beginning to fall. I looked down and coughed, I do that when I'm nervous.
