Tay's POV

It was about 12:00, and Carter and I were watching Homicide Hunter on TV together. I fell asleep at around 12:15, but was awoken by a thud.
" What was that?" I asked.
" Probably the air conditioning kicking on," Carter replied.
I shrugged and fell back asleep.
I woke up again at around 1:30.  Carter was asleep. I woke him up and told him that he fell asleep and that I was going up to check on Gracie, then going to sleep.  He followed me up the steps, but went into his room.
I went into Gracie's room to see if she was still up.  I looked on her bed, she wasn't there. I looked at her desk, she wasn't there. I looked at her floor, and she was there.
" Gracie?" I asked, nudging her. She didn't move an inch.
I shook her again. No response. I checked to see if she was breathing. She wasn't.
" CARTER!" I screamed, while crying.
He ran into Gracie's room.  He saw me holding Gracie, then immediately got Cam and the others.  Hayes called 911, and said they would be here in 5 minutes, but not by ambulance.
She had to be life lighted to the nearest trauma center.
Only one person could go with her, and they all chose me. The EMTs came, took her on a stretcher, and I followed. I went with her on the helicopter.
It only took about 5 minutes to get to the trauma center, but it would take the rest of the boys an hour. I texted them the address, and they said they would be there ASAP.
As soon as we got to the center, they took her to get an CT scan. The results were almost immediate.
Gracie has lung cancer.
