Chapter 9- Lukas
Ding Dong
The ringing of the doorbell wakes me up from my delicious dream.
“Mom, Dad! Doorbell,” I yell, not bothering to care if I wake anybody else up. Seconds later, I hear footsteps padding down the hallways outside my room. I can tell Mom is fumbling with the keys, due to the twinkling of the key not unlocking the lock. Finally, I hear the door swing open. After some faint mumbling of conversation, my mom starts yelling.
“Boys, Tristan, Abigail! Put on something decent and come downstairs! Our very nice new neighbors are here to welcome us to the neighborhood!”
Ugh. I think to myself. Rolling out of bed, I look around the room for the brown cardboard box with my clothes in it. As I’m pawing through the box, my eyes land on my favorite grey polo. I pull it on over my bedhead, and leave on my blue cotton sweats. Running my fingers through my messy hair in an attempt to fix it, I race down the stairs to the kitchen. I grab a soft peppermint from the jar on the counter, and pop it in as I walk casually to the family room. I see a rather large family seated on the couch.
“Hi Lukas!” says my mom with a huge, semi-fake smile on her face.
“These are our new neighbors, the Young family.” my dad says with the same strange smile.
My eyes travel around the room until they settle on a beautiful girl sitting in our loveseat. Well hello, what do we have here? I smile to myself. I walk over to her and plop down beside her.
“Hey there, I’m Lukas. Thanks for the warm welcome.” I say seductively to her.
“Hi,” she replies, and I’m pretty sure she’s still talking, but I can’t hear her. All I can think about is how gorgeous she is. Her green eyes are beautiful. Her wild mane of hair is flawless.
“Hello?” she asks with a raised eyebrow. I guess I zoned out.
“Oh sorry, I didn’t mean to trail off. So you live next door?” I reply curiously, with a few pretty good fantasies running through my mind. Us in her bedroom, her on top of me, me on top of her…
“Yeah, directly to the right,” she says with a welcoming smile. “You can come by tomorrow if you want to. I’ll show you around town!”
