A week after the incident was the first time he went into Bella's room, and the first he saw it. He had woken up early and wanted to wake up Bella so he raced over to her door. Peering in he had seen her sleeping soundly and it seemed like a perfect picture. It was just that there seemed to be something in the corner of his eyes that just didn't seem to fit. He turned his head to find a chair facing the bed, and on it was a humanoid creature resembling a girl around his age. Just calmly sitting in its chair and looking at Bella's sleeping form. It freaked out Mathis as it had its own head tucked under its arm. It took in a shaky breath and said in a skeletal voice, "Isabella Ryan". Bella's form shuddered and breathing stopped abruptly. The head shifted in its nook to look at Mathis. It had long brown hair that was teased thanks to where it was kept. Eyes were the colour of dirt with speckles of red. Pale lips parted.

"It was her time, please do not hate me for this" It rasped, stood up and jumped out the window it was sitting next to. Mathis rushed to Bella's side, confirming what he had guessed. An annoying flat line was ringing in another room, signalling the death of another person. He looked away from Bella's permanently sleeping body to find a note on her bedside table.

Dear Miss. Dullahan

I'm so sorry but I'm really tired today and by the time you stop by, I may already be asleep. I wish we could talk like normal human friends and I've been researching on the subject. All I can find is a kind of spell that makes you not have to kill people every time you stop traveling.

I can't wait to talk to you again!

Bella.

P.S. Maybe I can try the spell on you next time.

A Dullahan? What was that? Mathis pondered. It must have been that creature on the chair. If that's true, it had betrayed Bella. He felt disgusted. How something that Bella could had called her friend, kill her? That was just too wrong. Too evil. He then decided that it had tricked her. A sadistic game of a sad creature with its head chopped off. He'd grown to like Bella and his relationship with her had been cut off just too soon for his taste. It didn't settle well in his stomach. There were things out there like this? His mind was a complete mess.

He staggered back to his bed and slept.

Dreams filled with monsters.

Could any be real?

Do they kill?

Evil...

If something is evil, it's taught that you punish it.
Right?
