I came home and walked through the hallway. After about five steps I reached my iPod doc so I took out my iPod touch and plugged it in. I went through my playlist named Inspirational, and chose the song "Animals" by Nickelback. I keep going down the hall, this time I noticed a strange haze floating in over the door. I reached the lounge room and flopped down on the couch and took a look around. My lounge room is an okay size, I have two recliner chairs, a plasma TV, and a clock on the wall which are all painted a creamy white. Next to my recliner I have a coffee table and my phone. I saw a number three flashing on the phone so I hit the button for my messages and listen to a message from my sister about her Daughters dance recital. The second message is from my friend Hans. He's into old war tactics and his message was about his trip to the museum. I was about to listen to the third message when I froze.
I heard a crash coming from my kitchen. I looked at the door to my kitchen and saw that the Haze had returned. I turned to the bucket I kept my umbrellas and self-defense weapons in, and pulled out 2 swords, a Rapier and a Short Sword. I returned the Short Sword to the bucket, choosing the more versatile weapon. I snuck towards the kitchen door, I turned the corner into my kitchen and all I could smell is the scent of rotting meat it hit me like a punch to the face. I heard a sound so horrific it made the screams of the damned sound like a choir of angels.
I rounded the corner and finally saw the dreadful beast. The beast had a filthy yellow lions head, and mane. Tangled in the mane were the bones of many creatures and a human skull that stilled looked fresh. It had eyes in the sockets, and shreds of skin dangling from it. The head was resting on the shoulders of a jet black wolf, and in the fur were yet more bones and scraps of meat. There were many ticks and the hides of other beasts; the most prominent of them was the golden coat from the back of a horse. The horrific beast had the arms and legs of a Komodo dragon, littered with the weapons of many armies in the gaps of its scales. For the hands and feet it had the paws of a tiger, sharp claws extended and painted red with the blood of its unfortunate victims. This demon was a guard of Hades himself and is known as Bringer of Death or Morte.
He turned towards me and rose onto its back legs, then stared right at me. His eyes froze me in place like the eyes of a snake staring into my soul. The eyes were pure black with silver tear drops for pupils. He started walking towards me and all I could think was, "I am going to die". The beast lunged at me momentarily breaking the eye contact allowing me to move out of the way, but the demon was too quick and grabbed me around the waist and started to crush me. Before I died I started glowing gold. When the golden glow faded I was kneeling in front of the throne containing Hades Lord of the Dead. This throne was built of the bones of the dead and covered in a fabric woven from the souls of many creatures. Hades looked like an old-school rock star wearing black denim jeans and a black t-shirt with a white skull on it. Both looked like the material was made from the same fabric as the throne. His eyes were covered in black tinted aviator sunglasses. It looked like his eyes literally burned with a flame behind them. His shoes were white Adidas sneakers and his hair was brown with a slight curl at the front but straight at the back. He was lounging in the throne like he couldn't care less if I was there or not. I started to turn away from him to look at the palace around us but his voice boomed across the space between us like a cannon shot.
"Do not look away from me unless I say you can!" I turn back to face him and see a cloud of smoke above his head and some live embers glowing on his shirt sleeve. I suddenly realised that no matter how calm he seemed he was always alert and always enjoyed keeping people under his control.
"What do want with me" I said "what could I possibly have to offer the lord of the dead?"
"I have brought you before me Xavier, to ask you lead my armies and help me overthrow my brothers."
"Can I have some time to think about this decision?" I asked
"You may have as much time as you need, but you will have to stay in the palace prison."
