Xavier’s P.O.V

My pack felt heavy on my back as I walked up the beach towards the school, where I had planned the meeting the Elena, daughter of Zeus. I noticed the waves gently brushing up against the sand in a never-ending battle of supremacy. I smiled at the thought knowing that Poseidon and his general would waste no time planning their first attack. Poseidon’s lead general was a former friend of mine back in mortal life until he became a half-god by Poseidon. His name was Hans and from what I remember of him, he was a master tactician. A deadly foe none the less. I looked at the sun and saw that it had begun it’s descend. I had to act quickly and I hurried my pace as a saying from Hans popped into my mind.

Act when the enemy is living in a false sense of hope, to provide that feeling of hope is of utmost importance, than strike while he is dreaming of fantasies.

I shuddered at the thought and realised that if Poseidon was speaking to Zeus, or was planning to speak to Zeus before I could get to Hans, he would already have his armies ready to strike. As I reached the small school, just set off the shore I stopped and admired the old-fashioned stone architecture. The school was small and meant for children up to the age of ten. It consisted of six classrooms, two toilets, a library and a small office and staff room. As I entered the courtyard in the centre of the school, I took off my pack and gently laid my swords against the fence. The new black and purple hilt of the mastery-crafted blade glimmered in the setting sun. I walked over to a small wooden picnic table that was on one side of the court. I brushed aside some mould on both seats and took my place at one of them.

“Daughter of Zeus! I await you. I am unarmed and only wish to speak about a matter of utmost urgency! I would be honoured if you could show yourself and listen to my preposition.” I called urgently up at the skies. I quickly scanned the horizon, but saw nothing. I placed my hand in my hands and gently prayed that she would hurry up. We must hurry if we are going to save the world.

Elena’s P.O.V

“Daughter of Zeus! I await you. I am unarmed and only wish to speak about a matter of utmost urgency! I would be honoured if you could show yourself and listen to my preposition.”

A voice that seemed to belong to come from a ghost, whom I could not see, sounded from the Earth. I allow the wind to carry me to the unknown speaker. I could feel his presence more clearly as I neared a small school. The classical architecture stood out to me like Zeus was standing there himself. This ‘speaker’ did have some taste to pick this as a spot for a ‘preposition’. I landed just outside a wooden fence that surrounded a courtyard with a basketball ring at either end. I saw a backpack as well as two beautifully crafted swords resting against the fence and I placed my titanium staff alongside them. As I entered the courtyard, I could see a figure sitting at a small table. His back was towards me when I called out to him. “Were you the one who called for me?”

He jumped from his seat and spun around like he had been bitten by a spider. When he saw me a huge smile spread across his face like I was an old friend greeting him after many years spent apart. “Xavier,” he said as he walked towards me with his hand outstretched. I took his hand and said “Elena,” as I shook it. It felt warm and smooth against mine. I recognised him from my dream of the latest meeting between the gods as Hades general. His gentle blue eyes looked upon me like I was some angel sent from above. His brown hair glistened brighter than what it did in my dream and his face was much kinder as well. I felt myself blushing as I thought about how handsome he looked. What did Hades general want from me? I later found out that my job was about to become much easier than what I thought it would be.
