Once Elena and I had taken our prepared seats I studied her a moment to make sure she wasn’t carrying any hidden weapons. Once I was certain of that, I couldn’t help but noticing how her flowing silver hair that was brushing softly against her face and her emerald green eyes seemed to be trying to work me out just as I was her. I waited another moment yet to admire her natural beauty before I told her why I had requested her.

“As you would know, the three big gods are planning on going to war. I am purely against this. It is wrong that Hades is locked away in the underworld, but at the same time, I understand and I do not support him for declaring war on the other gods.” By the look on Elena’s face, she seemed momentarily confused. That confusion quickly went away when she carefully placed her next question.

“So why do you need me for?” Her voice seemed to become the wind itself and brought music to my ears.

“Because, as a half-god, I do not command the respect of the other gods to request an audience with Zeus in Olympus. But you, you are the daughter of Zeus and may take my request into some consideration.” I studied her reaction before continuing. “I need to speak with Zeus about Hades’ plans and his objectives. If Zeus knows them, he will also know where and when Hades will be at his weakest….” I was cut off by Elena’s slight laugh. I gave her a look of confusion until she spoke to me in a reassuring but stern voice.

“My father already knows about Hades and his plans. Zeus knows everything. Hades can’t move anywhere into the over world without Zeus knowing.”

It was now my turn to laugh. I caught Elena giving me a sharp look and immediately explained that Zeus was blinded and that Hades had been recruiting and training new soldiers right under Zeus’s nose. “Take me for example. No one knew about me until the meeting a week ago.”

My words caught her off guard and I could see that she suddenly realised what I meant and that I spoke the truth. I added some words to persuade her further.

“Zeus can barely manage Poseidon by himself, let alone Hades as well. Hades has grown stronger than any of the gods and no one even knows it. We must act before it is too late!” My words hung in the air like a stale smell until Elena nodded her beautiful face gracefully.

“I see…Hades is cunning, even for his own good. We cannot disturb my father now as he is in a private meeting with Poseidon-“

“What?” I stammered jumping to my feet. “Zeus and Poseidon are meeting? About what?”

I could see that Elena was confused by my reaction and she mumbled her next words. “There…there discussing a peace treaty.”

The words ripped through me like an axe chopping through a tree. “We must go now! I fear it may be already too late!” I ran to the small wooden fence and grabbed my gear. Elena hurried after me and started firing questions at me. I told her that I would explain on the way. My feet left the ground as I commanded the shadows to glide me through the air. I looked down and saw Elena chasing after me with her staff. I couldn’t help but feel like it was already too late to change what was about to happen. If I knew Hans well enough, then he and Poseidon were placing their plan into motion, sooner than what I had expected as well.
