Adrian's POV

I roll over on my bed to look at the clock on my nightstand.

6:59 a.m.

I stare at it until it changes to exactly 7:00 a.m. then get out of bed.

I make sure to make my bed nice and need before I head over to my shower.

After taking a quick shower, I comb my hair to the side and get it all to stay in place. I give myself a satisfied smile before I leave my foggy reflection in the mirror.

I walk towards my closet with only my white towel wrapped around my waist. It's filled with button up shirts that I've collected through these past few years...

I grab my favorite blue plaid one with a hint of red, then push through the rest to find my turquoise sweater. I start to get goosebumps from standing in the room with only a towel. I quickly put my sweater and shirt on along with a pair of light grey jeans and socks.

As soon as I put my brown boots on, I feel ready to walk out of my room.

I knock on Emily's door and tell her wake up because I know how she likes to use her snooze button.

I count each step going down stairs. It has just become one of those weird habits for mine.

I make myself the same breakfast as always. Toast with an omelet on the side and a glass of water. I leave some on the pan to make sure Emily has something to eat.

Same routine as always.

"Em, I'll be in the car. Better be ready in five minutes or I'm leaving you!" I shout up stairs loud enough so that she can hear me while trying not to wake up Mom, who doesn't go to work until later.

By 7:45 I run the engine of my silver Audi to warm it up and wait for Emily to come out.

I could use this time catch up on my Instagram.

I take my phone out of my pocket and scroll down. A picture of my aunt's cat.. a picture of the sky.. drum corps videos.. a few selfies of my friends..

After scrolling over the same thing again and again for about three minutes she finally arrives in the car.

"Adrian, I don't understand why we have to leave so early all of the time," she begins to complain as I back out of the driveway.

"Because you're only on time if you're early. If you arrive on time, you're late," I give her the cheekiest answer I could come up with at the moment just to mess with her.

"SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:30 AND WE LITERALLY LIVE LESS THAN 10 MINUTES AWAY"

Her response made me laugh and that only made her more angry. She flares her nostrils and looks at me through her glasses. I guess I didn't give her time to put in her contacts. I've had glasses since Sophomore year but I haven't thought about getting contacts. I should probably get them for drum corps.

"Sorry, Sorry. You know I just like to be early. I'll try to give you more time from now on."

Alison's POV

The lunch bell finally rings. Trying to stay awake in Pre-Calculus isn't my favorite way to spend a whole hour.

I walk half way to Luna's locker until I remember that she's in LA right now.

Maybe I can eat my lunch in the band room for today. I don't feel like eating with her friends without having her around.

The band room is at the corner of the school but the walk there isn't too far.
