I’ve walked for hundreds of miles and miles
Searching, looking, hoping to find you
I’ve hidden deep in the wild unknown
Eager and praying you’d pass by my way
He said that I couldn’t come by your keep
To listen to him and see what he sees
He told me that I could disappear
And be but the wind that tickles your ear
Follow me, my child
Hide with me, my dear
We’ll find her soon enough
He’ll find us this I fear
Wandering past the galaxies I’ve ridden this horse to the bone
But in the dark trees the moon is my friend and in darkness I’m alone
Come to me when you hear my voice
I shall hide when I hear your noise
I just can’t keep on going this way
Can you come out and hear me say?
Darlin’ sweet Emily
Can you come out from your keep?
Don’t leave me asking and wasting my breath
Just come to me before you are dead
My sweet, darlin’ Emily
Can you pass by my way once again?
Leave me to die here my bruising friend,
Oh the sorrow, oh the pain
Trust me I’ll find you and hold you again
Just come to my arms my frightened friend,
Oh the horror, feel the rain
I can't come
Yes you can
I shall hide
Trust me, friend
You will not take my soul in your hands
Just leave me to be in these darkened lands,
Oh my lover, oh my sinner
I can’t just walk by without you, babe
No longer a friend, but a shallow grave,
Sweet darlin’, in cold winter
Darlin’ sweet Emily
Can you come out from your keep?
Don’t leave me asking and wasting my breath
Just come to me before you are dead
My sweet, darlin’ Emily
I found you, I see you, and I hold you to me
I told you I’d find you, my sweet Emily
I cry, I pray for you to let me go
I’m down in my grave, just release my soul
It’s me, your sweet Emily
Oh my sweet, darlin’ Emily
