Hello to anyone who has opened this, welcome to my new story! This is my fourth story in the making and I've noticed I haven't been engaging like I should, so this story will be different.
I'm hoping that by engaging more, I will gain more long term followers who will also give me feedback, comments, and all of that good stuff. So with that being said, I do have a couple disclaimers for anyone who decides to read along.
*This story is not intended to undermine or make fun of mental illness in any way, as it is about life in a psych ward (a fictional one) and various people with different mental illnesses.
*My idea of a "psych ward" or mental institution may not be true to what it actually is, and I don't mean any negative intentions when describing my characters life in this fictional psych ward I've created.
*I am not a professional in psychology, and am basing any psychological references or descriptions off of credible educational texts, so please be understanding if I make any mistakes or inaccurate descriptions. I will do my best to be as knowledgeable as I can.
Now that I explained my concerns as the story progresses, I'll end with a brief explanation as to what is going down in the story.
Alyssa Mysterious is a nineteen year old girl who has recently exposed her own mental illness, and that caused her to end up where she is now, the psych ward. Her parents thought it was best for her, and so they searched near and far to put her in the best place that will give her the care. The real issue lies within Alyssa's mind, as she feels trapped and is tested constantly, so she's really always in a constant battle with herself.
She thought it might be a good idea to start a diary, one where she records what goes on in her daily life with her three personalities: Sam, Alyssa, and Angel. Alyssa is her actual self, and Sam and Angel developed early on in her life because she was and still is an only child who manifested multiple personalities from her childhood loneliness.
Through the use of her diary, she plans to spend her time in the psych ward not only working on bettering herself and her mental illness, but she also plans to escape, even if it means lying, manipulating, or by disguising herself. Whatever happens, the diary tells it all.
Let me know what you think of this little "sneak peek"/summary! I want to hear your thoughts.
With all that being said, the first part will be coming next week, so stay tuned! ;)
