The Kids of Olympus: The Beginning (UNDER CONSTRUCTION/REWRITTEN)

The Decision

Mya POV
This is the day that I choose whether I help my mom or not.

I already know what I'm going to choose after spending a long restlessness night yesterday, I am at the dock at the lake I hear footsteps thinking it might be one of my friends then I feel a cold presence.

I turned around and it's my mother. Khione.

"so daughter did you decide yet" she, said coming closer I got really nervous knowing she's not going to like my answer.

Ice started to form at the bottom of her feet and started to freeze the dock and I looked back up and decided to stand up.

"Yes mother I have decided" I said fiddling with my fingers.

"What is it daughter" she, said

"no," I said
"you're going to have to speak up daughter I'm not sure I heard you correctly," she says looking at me straight in the eyes.

"no," I say "these people have become my friends and I don't get why they're all that bad like you say they are and I know my dad would want me to be happy and not bring him back from the dead, Timmy too. It's your fault they died in the first place if you cared about us you could've protected Timmy and my dad and they wouldn't be dead and I wouldn't be here talking to you grieving the deaths of the two most important people in my life"

My father was the best dad in the world he didn't get mad or try to blame me for Timmy's death, he was always trying to cheer me up whenever  I was down, he didn't get mad at me or Timmy when our mom left again after Timmy was born.

"you made the wrong choice Mya," she said and she backed away and disappeared into the darkness of the trees.

As I was trying to walk away I couldn't my feet didn't move, I started to look down and saw the entire dock frozen with ice and the ice was spreading all over the lake and on me, the ice reached all the way to my thighs and was moving upwards, I did something a typical human would do and call for help but my mouth was already covered with ice.

Jake POV

        The campfire is in 10 minutes I cannot face Clara or her dad again.

I hear a knock on my door, I didn't even yell come in or open the door myself, the door opens and I realized it's my father

"so Percy just told me what you said to him he told me," he paused for a moment looking at his palm "keep your son in check because the next time I see him around my daughter doing things like that to her again he will be thrown into Tartarus," he said

My heart started pounding 1 million miles per minute. Then he started to walk over to me and sitting next to me in bed.
"kid calm down thats not what he said, I was just messing with you, he just was asking me if it was true that you kissed Clara and I said yes" he ,says

"why would you do that!!" I yelled at him
"because Mr. Leo Valdez tells the truth and only the truth," he says I look at him with a 'really' stare.
"okay sometimes" he admits.

My father doesn't make anything easier when it comes to me and girls I like, once when I was 5 I held a girl's hand and my dad started taking pictures, framed and hung them up until I was 10.

"can I tell you the story detail by detail how it happened, " I asked

"sure tell me everything," he said and started laying on the little cot I set up so I can spend my nights here.

"So we were hanging out talking then all of a sudden there was a pause and before Max told me to make a move or someone else was going to do it so then I kissed her and ran and now.." I didn't even get to finish my sentence.

"Look everyone has first kisses I remember when I had my first kiss," he said

"What was it? did you have a romantic night and made the first move or it was movie night and you kissed her or in a game of spin the bottle at 12," I guessed with all the stories of him and his hand with the ladies he told me when my mom wasn't around I expected his first kiss to be badass for a kid his age or whatever was cool back then.

       "No I wish I made the first move when I had my first kiss but my first kiss was your mom,  I was about to leave her island,  and I wanted to come back to her but she kept telling me not to and I kept telling her I will come back for her and then she kissed me to shut me up and then I left, I promised her that I would come back and I'm so glad I kept my promise because then I would have the three amazing kids I have now and my amazingly beautiful wife of course, but the surprising thing is that I liked every girl I came across as long as they were WAY out of my league but your mom was WAY out of my league and she liked me back so don't be worried about Clara's dad coming for you or Clara rejecting you an just go for it because it may be the best thing you'll ever do in your life" he said I hugged him I rarely hug him, maybe I should do this more often.
"I love you kid"
"I love you too dad"
Sadly that moment was short lived when I saw Mya Turank frozen in ice on the dock, then I see the entire lake is frozen and I see the ice spreading I look down and I see that it's near my father and I's feet I backed away from the ice and so did my dad.
"we have to tell Chiron," I say
"smart choice Jake"
We both run towards the campfire where all the campers are.

When we reach the campfire everyone is singing having a good time they all have fun carefree looks on there faces.
"I need you to say here I'll be right back," my dad says he pulls Chiron aside a few seconds later Chiron turns around and calls Clara's parents aside and Emily and Max's parents and they start to head in the direction towards the lake this was happening all while everyone was still singing, laughing, and playing truth or dare. I was about to follow after them until.
"what's going on" I hear right next to me I turn to see that it's Clara.
"grab Max and Emily and I'll show you guys"

We all are walking towards the docks and I figured it was better for them to find out instead of me explaining to them.
We all quietly get behind a tree so that our parents can't see us I can barely hear what they're saying.

"Is that Mya," Max asks

"Yes it is"

"How did Mya get stuck in the ice," Clara asked

"I don't know me and my dad..."

"My dad and I," Clara said

"Fine, my dad and I we were walking to the campfire we passed by the docks then we saw this and the ice seems to be spreading I'm assuming if the ice comes in contact with a person they'll probably end up like Mya"

"Do you think it'll spread to the camp?" Emily asked

"Probably"

I look down and the ice is a couple centimeters away from Clara's foot.

"Clara!" I asked and I pushed her away from it a couple seconds later I realized that I have my arms around her and her hands are holding onto my arm and we both let go immediately.

"Clara, it's on your boot," Max said I got Clara, but then I forget Clara is a quick thinker, she takes the boot of looks at me and says "if you think your theory is true Valdez why don't we test it out" and she throws it away from our parents so that they won't see or hear the boot.

The boot was quickly devoured by the ice. Finally the one time I predict something correctly.
"we should go if the if the ice moves that fast it'll only be a matter of time before Chiron evacuates the entire camp," Clara said then she took off the other boot and threw it with the other one and the ice was twice as fast and we all ran off to the campfire and acted like everything was fine but Clara went back to her cabin grabbed a bag full of stuff and went somewhere I figured I should follow her but after this week I figured that she probably needed some space.
