The wheels of the carriage rang out like thunder, The sun was lower in the sky now as the horses kept a fast pace. We were headed to my cousin's mansion, not for the party invite... But for the fear of Jack getting dangerously close with his recent attacks. I stared out the small window, my eyes reflecting the scenery beyond the carriage. I sighed and rested my chin in the palm of my hand, beside me sat Alex. 'Quiet as ever... How interesting.' I looked over at him, he too was admiring the scenery outside. Sighing again I pulled the invitation from the scented envelope, and mentally read the letter.
"Dear Lilian,
It's your favorite cousin Willow! I'm throwing a party this weekend, it's going to be simply amazing. I haven't heard from you in a long time, so I thought we could get a chance to catch up. I'll make it brief but I want you to meet someone once you arrive, I have everything planned out. Hope you can make it!
Love,
Willow"
I rolled my eyes, Willow always has something up her sleeve. Turning my attention to Alex I questioned him, "What's got you so quiet? You haven't said a word the entire trip." I folded my arms and waited for a response. He seemed to be focused on something, Alex jumped slightly before scratching the back of his neck anxiously, "Oh um... It's nothing my lady. I was just... Thinking." He regained his normal composure and continued staring out the window. I laughed softly and looked out my own window, "Since when do demons think..." I stated sarcastically. I could feel Alex staring at me, his gaze felt like daggers being placed at your throat. It was an unsettling feeling. Turning my head I gave an unamused stare, "What, I see no need to think if your already so intelligent." Taking a moment to study his facial expressions, they changed from confused to annoyed, then back to confused. I laughed again, "Demons are indeed mysterious and odd creatures..." I rested my chin in the same hand as before, I could hear Alex mumble inaudible retorts to my own comment.
Before we knew it the mansion was right in front of us, it stood tall and proud against the setting sun and beautiful meadows behind it. Stepping out of the carriage I approached the front doors, before I had a chance to knock one flew open revealing a very excited Willow. She squealed and jumped, landing on top of me and hugging my small frame profusely. She giggled and shouted, "I knew you'd make it! You couldn't possibly turn down MY invitation!" She squealed yet again, this time spinning me around in circles. I felt the unsteady feeling rise in my body, "W-Willow please! I'm gonna get sick!" I squeezed my eyes shut, but the spinning had stopped. 'Did she actually listen to me?' I opened one eye, Alex stood beside Willow, wearing that deceivingly warm smile. I straitened my dress and sighed. Willow giggled again as she took hold of my wrist, "Lily you HAVE to meet my friend! He is really nice!" She grinned up at me excitedly. My eyes widened as I realized she said 'he'. I flailed my arms up and down in panic, "WILLOW YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS! NOT THIS AGAIN!" I yelled desperately, she only grinned wider. If it was physically possible. I tried to run, only to be caught by two unbelievably strong arms. Willow dragged me inside the mansion, kicking and refusing to go with her. She dragged me to the drawing room, dropping me on the floor and locking the door behind her. I sat up quickly and glared at her, "HEY WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR! YA DIDN'T HAVE TO THROW ME LIKE THAT!" I shouted as I pointed a finger at her, she pushed her blond bangs out of her face and smiled triumphantly. I growled annoyed, looking away from her like the Tsundere I am. She giggled amused, her short, curly blond hair bouncing when she moved. Her light blue eyes stared down at my angered crimson ones, "Come on Lily, it's not THAT bad! Besides, you need a good man in your life. Your plenty old enough now." She put her hands on her hips, bending down towards me and giving me the 'puppy dog' eyes. I sighed and folded my arms, "If you try to put me with some weirdo like last time... Your in for it." I remained on the floor, refusing to move. She sighed, straitening her fluffy pink dress and turning around. Willow spoke cunningly sweet, "Oh trust me Lilian, your going to absolutely adore this sweetheart." and with that, she swiftly left the room. I stood up and dusted off my dress, she left the door open. 'Stupid.' I smirked before running out of the room and down the hall, away from whatever she had waiting for me. I turned the corner and bumped into an unfamiliar person, I fell backwards and landed on my rear. Rubbing my back I looked up; I was met with entrancing onyx eyes. Deep crimson red hair fell over them lazily, "Whoa, what's got you in such a hurry? Here." The unidentified person offered me a hand, it took me a minute to process what was happening. I shook my head and placed my hand in his. The boy helped me to my feet and smiled, still holding my right hand he looked down at me. Whoever he was, he was kind of cute. 'WAIT WHAT!? NO NO NO I AM NOT THAT TYPE OF PERSON!' My mind scrambled for words, trying to get whatever thoughts that were forming out. The boy chuckled seeing my confused state, "My name is Ayato Blackrose. I'm friends with your cousin." He smiled warmly and gave a light chuckle. My eyes widened, 'I'm gonna kill her.'
