As Patrick heads back into the locker room, I make my way to my actual seat and prepare for the game.  I am really excited about seeing a live game for the first time.  I take in all the sights and sounds.  The intro video, the Hawks skating out, the anthem...it's all pretty amazing. The game is fast-paced from the first puck drop.  The Blackhawks score first.  Then Patrick scores close to the end of the first period.  I decide after Patrick's goal that the goal horn is the best sound in the world.  The first period ends with the Hawks up 2-0.  It is super exciting for my first game.

As Patrick skates out at the start of the second period, he finds me in the crowd, smiles and winks.  As the period begins, most of the action is down at the other end.  The Blackhawks have switched sides, and the Avalanche are maintaining control of the puck.  The tide quickly turns when the Avalanche get called for a penalty.  It is during this power play that Patrick scores again.  As he is celebrating, he skates past me again and we make eye contact as he is yelling.  It's amazing.

The game continues and as time begins winding down, I keep hoping that Patrick will get a hat trick.  Sadly, the clock expires without him getting a hat trick, but the Hawks win 6-3.  As the United Center begins to clear out, I take out my phone to text Patrick to see what to do next, but again I realize that I still don't have his phone number.  I toss my phone back in my purse in frustration when I hear a voice to my right.

"Megan?" I look to my right and see a man in a Hawks shirt.

"Yes?" I ask timidly.

"Hi.  Patrick sent me to get you.  He instructed me to bring you down to the locker room and to not let you get away, so if you will follow me."

"Oh, okay."  I say as I get up and gather my things.  For some reason, I am all of a sudden so nervous.  I follow him up toward the main area of the United Center, then through a door and down some stairs to a long hallway.  We continue walking for a few minutes before he stops me.

"Wait here."  He says as he opens a door, which has a Blackhawk on it.

As I wait, I fidget with everything.  I decide to take the jersey off, but after I take it off, I think about putting it back on.  I am a hot mess standing there.  It feels like an eternity that I stand waiting for the guy to come back.

Finally, the door opens and I expect the guy to come out, but instead it's Patrick.  He is dressed only in his under armor with no shoes and his hair is a mess, but I have never seen someone as gorgeous as he is at this moment.  He smiles when he sees me and opens his arms to me.  I practically jump into them.

"I'm all sweaty, sorry."  He says sheepishly.

"I don't care."  I reply.  As I pull back from him, his hand takes my chin and pulls it toward him.  He kisses me.  It was quick because of our current location, but it was perfect.  "Thank you so much for the ticket to the game and the amazing jersey.  I couldn't believe it yesterday when I received the package."

"I didn't know if you would actually come tonight."  Patrick admitted.  "I wasn't sure because of the way we left things..."  He trailed off as a couple of the equipment guys came out of the locker room.

"I left you the note, so that you would know I was okay.  That I left more to not cause you problems, not because I was upset." I explained.

"I know.  I was glad you did.  Do you have any idea how mad I was that I didn't have your phone number."  Patrick says with a laugh.  "As a matter-of-fact, give me your phone."

I take my phone out of my purse and hand it to him.  He unlocks it and begins putting in his contact information.  "There."  He says as he hands it back to me. "You have mine and I texted my phone, so now I have yours."
