I gasped and sat up, flinching as I did. I looked around and saw I was in an unfamiliar place, alone. I looked down at myself to see all my cuts were bandaged up, and some of them were still bleeding a little bit. I slid out of the bed and slowly walked towards the door.

I walked around the school without any rhyme or reason. I walked up another set of stairs and walked into an opening. I was on the rooftop. I looked around and saw a figure on the edge. I walked over and sat next to them.

"Still coming to rooftops when you want to get away and think, Luca." I said and Luca looked at me. He gave me a small smile and I put my arm around his shoulder.

"Yeah. Rooftops have the best view in the whole world. If I was on the ground, buildings or trees can block my view." Luca said. He looked up and smiled at the moon. Luca has always been a fan of the night. He loved stargazing and just staring at the moon. Sometimes he would stay up all night.

I looked around and I didn't recognize anything. "Where are we anyways?" I asked.

"Death's house." he said. Ugh, I forgot. I lost the deal. Fun.

"Oh, yeah." I muttered. Luca laughed.

"You fought him until you almost died from blood lose and you forgot?" he asked, shaking his head. He looked at me. "Why did you do it?" I looked up at the moon and gave him a small smile.

"Because I like it better when it's just us." I said and looked at him. I saw his expression and laughed. "No, this isn't a love confession." He gave a relief sighed and put his hand on his chest.

"Oh, thanks. I don't know how I was going to let you down easy." he said, laughing. I smiled and shook my head.

"I'm being serious, Luca." I said, seriously. He stopped laughing and watched me. "I don't like staying in a place too long because it feels suffocating. When I'm out there with you, I feel free and I feel like I'm not tied down and forced to follow a certain path... I also can't trust anyone else. I can only rely on you because you has always been there."

Luca smiled at me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. He pulled me towards him and I rested my head against his shoulder. "I love you like family too." he muttered, smiling. I laughed. "And, they're not all that bad."

I was quiet for a moment. "Yeah... I know." I admitted. "I just can't see past my fear and see their good. I want to, but I can't seem to do it." A tear rolled down my cheek and sadness and tiredness hit my like a tidal wave. I soon fell asleep with my head on his shoulder.
