I ran in to join the line before the bell rang and exactly when it did, the door of the gym opened revealing Mr. Robinson with a bucket of tennis balls, a tennis racket, and a grade book.

"So how are you today, we're going to warm up first then teach you the basics, so lets start. Just put your rackets anywhere and come here and do at least 40 push ups then do 25 sit ups and then stretch with a partner and finally give me 50 laps around the school. Hear that? School, not court. Let's start people, do that in time so you could rest before we really start practice. You have 20 minutes, go!"

Our school was pretty used to exercise. We could slack off in anything but when it came to gym I actually looked forward to it. Better to just get it over with, knowing coach Rob, he would just make it worse if we wasted his precious time.

I put my racket on the bleachers and ran to the corner to do my push ups and sit ups. When I was on my 30th push up, I noticed I didn't have a water bottle. Shoot, I'm gonna die of dehydration.

I was still mentally yelling at myself about not bring a water bottle when there was a tap on my shoulder. I sat up and looked up to see Eric.

"Hey, did you bring a water bottle?" He asked.

"No, I forgot to bring one, and now I'm dying of dehydration." I answered, slightly annoyed.

"Well that's okay, I have one." Eric said and smirked.

"Ugh I hate you." I told him.

"No need to be mad about it, I was about to offer you some. Honestly Bex, no need to hate me." He said acting all innocent.

"Fine, I love you now give me some water! I'm gonna die."

"Fine." Eric gave me the bottle and I drained it.

"Did you finish your push ups yet?" I asked Eric finishing my push ups.

"Yep, and I finished my sit ups to." Eric answered bragging.

I laid down and bent my knees and started doing sit ups. When I was on my 24th sit up he told the people who were done to partner up cause they were gonna do stretching. Of course Catherine ran up to Eric full speed and was the first one there so they partnered up. I ended up with some guy who's name was Aaron.

"So, do you have french after this?" he asked me right away. "No, I have Spanish with Mrs. Anderson I think." I said.

"Wait aren't you from my biology class? Carper, I think right?"

"Yup, I'm Mr. Hartsock's favorite." I said sarcastically.

"Ahh, I see."

"So who's your French teacher?"

"Ms.... Ummm, I kinda forgot, but I think her name stars with a L."

"You mean Ms. Lydia?"

"Yeah, her."

"So you have French with Eric."

"Who?" Aaron asked confused.

"Oh, Eric. You know, Eric Kingston. The guy who interrupted Mr. Hartsock's lecture." I reminded him.

"I don't remember, I was to busy looking at your gorgeous face." He said and smirked. I pointed to the direction of Eric and Catherine. Eric saw me and winked. I rolled my eyes.

Aaron looked at me and asked, "He annoys you doesn't he?"

"What? Oh, I don't really know what it is about him... Something about him just... Infuriates me for some reason." I told Aaron.

"Alright ladies, since everyone is finished with their push ups and sit ups, its time to start running, so lets go outside and run those laps people." He yelled.

We were all glad to be outside of the gym cause it smelled like BO and dirty socks in there. It smelled gross. Anyway, as we ran around the school, I somehow ended running next to Eric.

"So you glad I'm gonna be staying in your house?" Eric asked.

"Hell no, in fact I am disappointed to know that we're gonna be sleeping under the same roof." I said and kept running. "Now why is that Bex?"

"Well maybe it has to with you being the one to drop this on me instead of my own parents." But I knew that wasn't the complete truth. What was it about this guy?

"I see." Is all he said.

"Yup, well at least I don't have Spanish with you."

"Yeah, I don't have to see your ugly face for one hour and forty five minutes."

"Your so mean."

"That's the way I roll."

The bell rang a few minutes later (Man that bell was loud).

"Ladies, looks like no tennis today, but I hope you had fun warming

up. Okay, class dismissed." Mr. Robinson announced giving us all evil smiles. Me and Eric walked to our lockers together and ended up talking about basketball. When we reached our lockers, I put my racket away and walked to my Spanish class. I noticed how quiet it was without Eric. Not that I missed him or anything, it was just, different.

Well there was this other kid in class that made random outburst, but it wasn't that funny. Class took a super long time to end, but at least it finally ended.

I was walking outside so I could wait for the car to pull up, but I ended up bumping into Cameron.

"Hey little sis, in a rush to get home I see." Cameron said raising an eyebrow.

I brightened up instantly, "Hey! And not really since the stranger's moving in."

"Yeah... I'll call later to check in on you. Oh and tell me if Devon calls."

"Why would you want to know if Devon calls?"

"I want to know how the conversation goes." Cameron said smirking.

"Sure I'll text you I guess, bye." I said as I waved.

I was thinking about how the conversation between me and Devon would go if he does call. I walked outside and spotted the car in the parking lot. I walked over to it and knocked on the window so the driver could unlock the door so I could get in, but instead he rolled down the window, "Ms. Carper, your parents said I was to pick up a transfer student as well for the rest of the semester. I take it you had already met him? I believe his name was Eric Kingston if I'm not mistaken." Mr. Miller, the driver asked.

I nodded, "Yes his name's Eric, and actually, I have loads of classes with him. I'll go get him."

I said and went back inside to find Eric found him in the corner by the snack machine... kissing Catherine...

I backed up behind the corner and studied them for a moment, Eric looked quite surprised and frozen. His eyes were large, so Catherine was probably the one who jumped on him.

I decided to wait until Catherine pulled away, but it was getting kinda awkward just standing there so I decided to get a snack. In the end, I settled on a bag of hot Cheetos and started eating them one by one.

I guess I was so into enjoying the Cheetos I didn't notice that Catherine had already pulled away. I felt Eric's presence behind me and I turned around, "Mr. Miller is waiting at the car. Shouldn't we like, go?" I asked awkwardly.

"Yes, we should, so Bex lead the way." He said grinning. We walked to the car in silence.
