MEMORY

"Can you explain this question Astrid?" My teacher asks. She is doing this on purpose. She knows I don't know the lesson.

"U-Um this is the question I ask for help w-with." I say stuttering. I wasn't that much of a social butterfly. More like a caterpillar who won't come out of its cocoon.

"Yes, and that's why you are going to do it on the board." I gritting my teeth and bite my lip.

"But I wasn't here." She smirks at me. "You should have been." She snarls. I have no idea why she hates me so much, but she does. Eventually I have a panic attack as I am going up, then pass out.

END OF MEMORY

She was evil. I later found out, she and my mother hated each other, because my dad ended up falling for my mother other than my teacher. But she got married in the end, to my father's best friend Jason. So I guess she was ok now.

"Astrid. Eh, i like Ash better." He says. I shrug. On the inside I was screaming. It was are thing to not know each other's names. That brat ruined it.

"That's not my name anymore anyways. I am not the shy timid girl anymore. I am Ash, the zombie killing machine. Who gets to be best friends with the Silent Sniper 10k." I say smiling.

I hear voices in the background that sounded like Doc and Murphy.

"I bet you a drink that they get together within the week." I hear Doc say.

"Three days." Murphy says I glance at 10k who was also listening in and he was blushing madly. I smile.

"Awe, that's so cute!" I say. He blushes harder and looks down. I stand up and give him a hug.

"Wanna help Doc win a bet?" I ask. He nods.

"In a 6 days, we talk about us being secret, acting like we don't know they are there, and say stuff like, I don't want to hide it anymore, and then Your like, no the times not right." He nods chuckling.

"That's the only thing you have said to me that has been devious." I smile.

"Yup. I can be when I want to." We break apart. We walk in and see that everyone is around the table. 10k and I sit across from each other and they bring out a type of alcohol. They got to Murphy and they poured a little, but he stops them.

"Ah let's not be stingey with that." The man pours more in and moves on they hand 10k a cup and he looks at weird.

"I don't want to drink this." He says tilting the drink around. I shrug. "We don't have to."

He nods. They get to me. "No thanks." He takes my glass and smiles smugly as pours it in. I look at him confused.

He walks away and then sits at the head of the table.

"To surviving." The man says. We all lift our glasses and then, 10k and I take a sip. I grimace. It was bitter and the taste lingered on my tongue. It was dry and sucked all the moisture I had in my mouth. Ugh.

"So, how come you are able to walk through the Z's?" The man asks leisurely taking a sip.

"Oh, the Z's love me. I was given an experimental vaccine. So now the Z's think I'm one a them." He says. He then stands up.

Opens his shirt. "Bit eight times, and in live to tell the tale."

"Well is there more of this vaccine?" He asks frantically. Murphy takes a sip of his drink and sets it down.

"Your looking at it. My blood has the antibodies to create a cure. That's why we have to get to California."

"Well, you seem to be good at it." The man says.
