SLAM!
Third time's the charm, right? Well, that's how many times it took her to shut the door properly. It kept swinging open when it shouldn't of.
She locked the door before putting the keys in her pocket and taking her phone out. She walked to the end of the sidewalk.
She did her best to not do this, but without the music, she was worried of what she might do if her thoughts overcame her. Sure, she was worried of traffic and bikers. But she made sure to be overly observant. Not that she'd let any of her peers notice that.
She walked down the driveway. It would take a while to walk, but she hadn't gotten her permit yet and didn't want to wait for her father and brother so she could get a ride. She sighed yet again that morning.
She put in her earbuds and opened a streaming music app. The sounds of death metal and what they called "emo" began blaring from her earbuds. She made sure the volume was as loud as possible before she headed out.
That was another thing about her listening to music that upset her. She had to listen to it extremely loudly. She thought maybe the louder it was, the easier it'd be to drown out the thoughts.
She let herself drown in the music as she began walking.
