One afternoon . . .
I just arrived at home from school and i was depressed . . .
My exam results are a mess, a total disaster . . .
I was still by the door when i heard screams coming from the bedroom . . .
I rushed to the room worried that something might have happened when i was gone . . .
"Mom?!" I asked . . .
I opened the bedroom door and saw my mom thrashing all her stuff . . .
"You good for nothing!!! Why do you have to take him away from me!!! Damn you!!!!"
She was screaming and crying so hard that she was trembling -- no -- shaking . . .
"Mom," i said holding her by the shoulders, "Mom its okay. Im here alright? Im here." i said trying to soothe her . . .
But she pushed me away . . . she pushed me away and threw the persian vase she got as a wedding present at me . . .
My head spun . . .
But my mother's words kept me hanging on to consciousness . . .
"You bastard!! Never show your face here again!! You took my husband away from me!! You good for nothing!! How could you do this to your father?! To me, your mother?! This is all your fault!! You killed your father!! Youre despicable!! This is all your damn fault!!"
I wasnt able to feel anything, just a numbness in my chest . . .
I didnt even feel hurt when my mother dragged me on the floor and literally threw me out the door . . .
I cant think . . . I cant feel . . .
I just walked aimlessly on the streets as the sun was setting, painting the sky with the color of blood . . .
Until i heard a familiar voice . . .
"Oh my God! Shine! What happened to you?!"
I turned around and saw Ms. Hailey -- the owner of the cafe where i work -- rushing towards me . . .
