Chapter 11

A/N- I have absolutely no idea on what it's like to give birth and don't intend in finding out what it's like either. But this is mostly from research. I tried to keep it interesting. Sorry if it gets graphic.

I was in labor for about 10 hours, now the contractions were a few minutes apart. I could see tell sun starting to rise as I gave out a scream so loud that one of the guard had second thoughts on leaving me there alone with no other medical assistance. I mean Iain and I were both doctors but we specialized in different areas. 

"Should we get a doctor in there" I heard one guard asking the other. 

"No, she'll be fine, it's almost out." I heard the other guard replying. Jason was starting to panic, I did all I could to keep calm, but I was completely exhausted. My mum was sitting near me on the floor. 

"Mum, how long has it been?" I asked.

"Since the, whole kidnapping thing?" asked my mum.

"Yah" I replied trying to forget about the pain. 

Mum was clearly angry and worried, she was quiet for a long time. 

"About 7 hours." She replied. 

"All you can do is keep pushing till it comes out." Said Iain. I knew he wanted to explain to my mum but he put me first. 

"If we had anesthetic and scalpel it would have been over now." Said Iain.

 "C-section? You're going to need more than that" Replied my mum.

"Well you can't just rip her open, this isn't twilight!" Protectively said Jason as he wiped my face with a wet cloth. I looked over at Iain and Jason looked tired, so was my mum. 

"you know the muscles in the human body are designed to pull only." I said while I was in pain, trying to lighten the mood. Jason smiled but didn't say anything. 

"yah but in this case your muscles are actually pushing." Said Iain.

 "that's my girl." Said my mum, she was quiet the whole time but was near me the whole time to support me.

 "Give it one more try Shen, you're going to be in pain till the baby comes out" said my mum. I nodded. 

"Is it alright if I check if you're dilated?'' Iain asked trying to sound professional. Iain looked at my mum and Jason for approval and then lifted my dress and looked, he then sat up and said, "you're already dilated." 

"what does that mean?" asked Jason who sat next to me. 

"It means that the baby will have no problem coming out." I said wiping the tears off my face. Jason gently moved the chair away from my back and he sat on the floor and I lent against him, he was a lot more comfortable than the chair. 

"Shaniah look at me." said Jason holding my cheeks,

 "I can't stand to watch you in pain, and you've been through this for a long time, you are stronger than this. And I know for a fact that you want to get this baby out." said Jason. 

"I don't think I can do it." I cried as I let out a deep breath. 

"Shaniah look at me!" Jason demanded,

"You can do this. It's going to be alright." Said Jason confidently.

 I nodded and I relaxed my whole body taking a deep breath in. I gripped Jason's hand and wait for another contraction, luckily it wasn't too long till I had one. Iain advised me to push, and I pushed my head back at Jason and gripped Jason's hand as hard as I could.
