Riley's POV"Happy birthday to Rileyyyyy!"
"Happy birthday to youuu!"
I fill my lungs with air and hold in my breath. As I'm about to blow my candles out my older sister stops me.
"Are you one?"
"Are you two?"
"Are you three?"
"Are you four?"
"Are you five?"
"Are you six?"
"Are you seven?"
"Are you eigh-" "STOP!" I shout. My family members and classmates start clapping. Again, I take in a deep breath and blow.
But before my breath can touch the candle Blake blows my candles out.
I frown and start calling for my mom. She runs over to me and calms me down. I sniffle.
"You're being such a baby, Riley!" Blake spits out.
"I'll light them up again." Mommy says. I nod and wipe the rest of my tears.
As she is lighting up the candles again Blake gets pulled by his mother to the corner of the Chucky Cheese's arcade and scolds him.
Why again did I invite him to my party? Oh yeah, cause mom told me to.
I blow out the candles and help my mom hand out cake. The last piece of cake was for Blake but I didn't want to give it to him. I run to my mom. "Mommy, I hate Blake. He's always so mean to me and, and I just don't like him!" I stomp my feet and cross my arms.
Mom runs her fingers through my hair. "Don't be like that, Riley. I didn't teach you to act that way." She kisses my cheek.
I sigh and stomp over to where Blake was standing. He was laughing with some of his friends.
"Here's your cake." I mutter handing him the piece.
He whispers something to his friends and they all start chuckling. "What's so funny?" I ask.
He looks at the cake then back at me. In an instant the cake was no longer on his plate but all over my face.
"I don't really like cake." He shrugs.
I was furious! I tackled him down to the ground and started punching him as hard as my 8 year old self could.
I was so tired from punching that I just plopped on the ground. Blake pins me to the ground and gets closer to my ear. Close enough that I can feel his breath on my skin. It made my body tingle, his breath was really warm.
Before getting pulled apart he whispers in my ear. "Gotcha now, Wilson." He smirks.
Our mothers then pull us apart and bring us to the corner to talk about our behaviour.
