Riley's POV
Today was moving day! Yesterday mom called Jane, Ms. West, and told her that I chose to live with her.
I was scrolling on my phone. Then got a text from Bully😍.
Bully😍: Hey, Riles! Do you need a ride to school?
Riley: no thx. I usually walk.
Bully😍: mmmkI swallow the last piece of my bagel and swing my bag over my shoulder.
I walk out the door and glance at the West's house. I start walking down the path while connecting my earbuds to my phone. I click the song Boom Clap by: Charlie XCX.
I push my earbuds into my ears. I mumble the lyrics. "Boom clap the sound of my heart the beat goes on and on an-" "and on and on yeah. Boom clap you make me feel good." I'm interrupted by Blake.
Who is grinning a toothy smile at me. "I pull out my earbuds and wrap them around my phone. "Why are you here?" I continue walking.
"I want to walk with my best friend." He adjusts his backpack straps. My eyebrows knit. "Since when did we become friends?"
He runs in front of me. "Ever since you decided to live with me." He pinches my cheek.
"Hey!" I slap his hand away. "That doesn't mean we're friends. First, you have to gain trust with the person you want to be friends with." I lecture.
He rolls his eyes. "Blah, blah, blah...I'm serious though, Riles. I want to be friends." I stare into his beady green eyes. "Your kidding right?" I turn right and in a distance I can see the school.
"Nope." He again runs in front of me blocking my way. Blake genuflects. "Will you Riley Wilson." My eyes immediately widen and I start pulling him up. "Hold up. What the hell do you think you're doing?" Blake doesn't budge instead he continues.
"Will you make me the happiest guy in the world? By being my best friend?" He shows me a closed mouth smile.
For some reason there was a slight feeling of butterflies in my stomach. You like him! Said my conscience. I snap out of my trance and narrow my eyes at him.
"Let me see? No." I said blandly and walk around him. "Why? Can't you let the past go, Riles?" He asked with sincere eyes. I shook my head.
Blake's POV
"I want to make it up to you. I want to show you the new me. The one that has changed. Not the ignorant 8 year old self I was back then." I really wanted to be friends with her.
She sighs. She opens her mouth and 2 sentences comes out. "Fine, I'm giving you a chance. I hope you don't waste it." Riley checks her phone then looks at me and smiles.
"C'mon new best friend. We don't want to be late for school." Each words was dripping with sarcasm. I smiled widely and kissed her on the cheek.
There was a stunned expression on her face. "Don't worry, princess. The next one may be more than a friendly gesture." I start walking.
I hear her quiet footsteps follow behind me.
Riley's POV
He kissed me on the cheek. That jerk of a best friend. I walk up behind him. When I finally catch up, I punch his strong biceps. "That's what you get for kissing me." I say then start running.
I out run him and get to school. Sean, TJ, and Vera were talking around T's locker. "Hey, guys." I wave.
They wave back. "I got news." I whisper to Vera. The bell rings. "Then tell me at lunch." Vera said walking down the hall. "I'll text you instead!" I shout. She nods then enters her classroom.
