Riley's POV
I wake up to my alarm clock. I was a bit early. I lay in bed and check my phone. I scroll on Twitter until I see I got a notification. I click the notification and it brings me to my email app. An email has been sent to the whole school.
I pump my fists in the air. "No school!" I shout. But then immediately cover my mouth. Jane and Blake may still be sleeping.
I shut my phone and go back to bed.

Blake's POV
My eyes flicker open and I check the time. "I'm late." I gasp and scurry up. I pull on jeans and a t-shirt. I tie on my converse and swing my bag over my shoulder.
As I'm walking out of my room and into the kitchen I remember I forgot my phone. I run back to my room. I find my phone and click the home button. I got an email. While I'm checking my email I take a cereal box and dump some cereal in my mouth. Then pick up the milk carton and slowly tip some milk into my mouth. No milk!
I freeze. School has been cancelled.
I groan and spit the cereal out of my mouth. "Goddammit." I mutter. Something smelled really bad. I sniff and realize it was me. The shirt I'm wearing was the lost one I got when I was living with my dad in Florida.
I remember I lost this shirt after the first day of school this year. No wonder why it smells so bad. It must have been buried under my laundry.
I take the shirt off and trudge to my room. I pick out some clothes before getting into the warm shower. I wash my hair then wrap a towel around my waist and another one rubbing my head.
I pick up my dark blue shirt and put on my leather jacket. I slip on some socks, underwear, and jeans. I walk to the kitchen and search the fridge for food.
I groan. Riley and I used the leftover food for dinner and I spit or the cereal and we have no more milk.
Mom might be sleeping so I take out a sticky note and write.
School is cancelled and we have no food I'm going grocery shopping. -Blake.
I rip the sticky note off the pad and paste it to the fridge. As I'm doing so Riley walks in with a sleepy look on her face. I ignore her and start tying my shoes. "Where you going?" She croaks.
"Grocery shopping." I reply. She nods. I get up and start walking to the entrance. Should I ask her if she wants to come? I know girls like shopping but I don't think they like grocery shopping. I'll just ask her. "Hey um Riley, you want to come?" I ask.
She blinks then nods and walks off to her room. "Girls." I mutter.
Riley's POV
"Hey um Riley? You want to come?" Blake asks. I have nothing else to do today. Why not? I nod.
I walk to my room and pull on a marvel t-shirt and black jeans with a belt. I love black jeans. Isn't it obvious?
I tie my black worn out vans and take my shoulder bag with me. It holds some makeup, money, and other stuff. I walk back out to the front door where Blake is waiting.
"Let's go." I say. He nods and I follow him out the door. We get in his car and he plugs his phone to it. Blake clicks shuffle on Spotify.
She was mine by AJ Rafael plays. He hums and drums his fingers on the steering wheel.
I sing along to the song once the chorus starts.
"No matter where you go. I won't be very far. Cause in my head I'd be right there where you are."
