I crunched my cereal and looked around at te others. Raven was reading a spellbook, Beast Boy was a monkey and sitting on the couch, Cyborg was tinkering with some electronics, and Starfire was eating some kind of weird alien food. I finished my cereal and stood up. I walked into my room and changed into my suit. I combed my hair, brushed my teeth, the usual. I heard a blaring alarm and rushed out. Finally, some crime! I'd gone all week with no criminal activity.
"Titans, go!" I called.
Beast Boy sat up and threw away his banana. He changed into a pterodactyl and picked up Cyborg. Starfire and Raven flew with them out the window. I rushed to the garage where my motorcylce was parked. I hopped on and sped out and onto the road, following the others. I clicked my Titans Communicator and watched as Cyborg's face appeared.
"What are we up against?" I asked.
"Overload and Control Freak teamed up. I knew it was only a matter of time. They're tearing up the city, but the pair is dangerous. Too much energy from Overload can cause Control Freak's remote to malfunction. Anything can happen. It's extremely dangerous, and we need to stop it," he informed me.
I clicked my communicator off and sped up. We could see explosions as we got closer to the center of the city. I turned and drove up some stairs. I swerved and busted through a door and onto the roof. I saw Overload sucking energy from streetlights. I accelerated and ramped off of the roof. I soared over it, knocking over a few telephone poles into it and landed on another building. It lost its balance and swayed for a minute. Raven cast a spell and went to work throwing things at it. Starfire threw energy balls at it, making it screech in rage. I looked around. Where was Cyborg and Beast Boy? Where was Control Freak? I spotted him at a parking building across from me. Beast Boy transformed into a ram and charged at Control Freak. Cyborg used his energy cannon and fired. Control Freak used his remote and summoned a monster from a horror movie. He must have upgraded it, because there was no TV there. Maybe it had a bigger range now.
I jumped off of my bike and threw a grappling hook. I swung over to where they were and rolled, knocking over Control Freak. Beast Boy and Cyborg were busy taking care of the monster, so I had him all to myself. I pinned him to the ground and punched him in the face.
"Give up, Control Freak. It's all over! Now give me the remote," I demanded.
He spit out a little blood and grinned.
"Oh, it isn't over. Robin, you remember him, right?" he taunted.
I looked over my shoulder to see Overload standing behind me. He swiped at me before I could dodge. Electricity smacked me in the face, and it hurt like crazy. I was shocked. I screamed and collapsed on the ground. Waves of electricity wracked my body and I gasped in pain. Control Freak stood up and wiped his mouth. I looked out the window and saw Starfire and Raven lying on the roof of a building, paralyzed. Beast Boy and Cyborg were both shocked and on the ground like me. Control Freak grinned and tossed Overload a car battery. I struggled.
"Don't give him any more..*gasp*... energy. You might...*grunt*... destroy everyone, including yourself," I tried to warn him.
He just rolled his eyes and watched Overload happily suck the energy from the battery. He grew in size and waves of electricity flew from his body. Control Freak yelled and dropped his remote. Sparks flew from it and it was shaking.
"W-what's going on?" he stuttered.
"We tried to warn you," Cyborg managed.
I pushed myself to my hands and knees and tried to crawl away from the remote. I didn't get very far before collapsing again. I thought of my friends and all they've done for me. I got up again, crawling to the nearest pole. I grabbed it and pulled myself to my feet. The pain was going away, but it was still there. I stumbled over to Beast Boy and helped him up. He changed into a rhino and helped me get Cyborg onto his back. I gritted my teeth and took out a grappling hook.
