I woke up at dawn and changed into my robe and the rest of my suit. I flipped my hood up as usual and grabbed my spellbook, some candles, a mat, and my shoes. I levitated to the roof and laid down the mat and candles. I sat down with my legs crossed and began to meditate. I waited as the sun rised. It was quiet with a gentle breeze. I opened my spellbook and began to memorize new spells. I’ve had it since I was a little girl. When I ran out of spells, I traveled to my home realm and gathered more. I got up and noticed Crow was on the roof with me. I tried to ignore him, but he just didn’t get the memo. He was supposed to be like me, right? So why was he being so nice to me?

“I wasn’t sure if you practiced the same rituals,” he said.

“Why are you trying to be so nice? I thought you were like me,” I asked, annoyed.

I just didn’t like feeling weak or needy. I was confused too. Maybe he was like me, and that was why he was being so nice. Because he thought that we had a lot in common.

“Look, I just thought we should talk more since we have pretty much everything in common. You have an evil dad, I have an evil mom, we both come from a dark realm, we have the same powers, we’ve been through the same stuff,” he said angrily.

Finally, something like me. I rolled my eyes.

“Look, I get it, but you don’t have to try so hard. Just be yourself, you know, quiet, very to the point, like me. So just do whatever, you be you,” I said.

I floated back down into the kitchen and sat at the table. Beast Boy and CC were making breakfast. Oh yay, tofu crap. I sighed and got up. I made some toast and grabbed a banana. I quietly ate while everyone else talked. I usually kept to myself. I have a higher intelligence than most of them. Besides, they’re all occupied with their other dimension counterparts. I don’t see what’s so interesting about them. They’re the same, so you run out of things to say because you think all of the same things. Well, it might be a little off because they’re the opposite gender, but still. I got up and started for my room.

“Hey Raven, we’re going to be training. Be back in ten minutes,” he said.

I nodded and went to my room. I shut the door and sat in front of my mirror. I lifted a hand mirror that led to my mind and was about to enter when Crow came in. I set it down.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“Nothing, just wondering what you were doing,” he said.

“Well, I’m gonna go into my mind, okay? So just do whatever, but don’t go through my stuff,” I said.

He nodded and I entered my mind. Crows flew away as my feet crunched on the dry earth. I wandered around, waiting for an emotion to appear. One with a gray robe appeared. All of my emotions looked like me, but they had different personalities and different robes. This one was sad and insecure. Strange.

“Hi. Oh wait, what if you don’t speak English? I might offend you. Oh dear, I’m sorry,” she said very miserably.

“I speak English, and you haven’t offended me. What’s on your mind?” I asked.

“Well, this is like mine,” a voice said behind me.

I hissed and my eyes glowed red, and instead of two there were four. I grew taller and dark tentacles came from beneath my robes. I turned and faced Crow.

“I told you not to come! Go away, now, or I swear, I don’t care if you’re me from another dimension, I will destroy you,” I roared.

He grew to my size, eyes and everything.

“I just wanted to see what it was like. I didn’t know you were meeting with emotions. I’ll just go,” he seethed.

An emotion dressed in red showed up. Anger. Crow shrank to normal and left. I shrank and sighed. I turned back to the sad, insecure emotion. I’ll call her Sadness.
