Sugawara pulled himself away from his sheets with a cowlick at the right. He turned to his side where Tanaka was. Tanaka had his legs spread wide open and arms above his head, pulling his shirt to expose his cute belly. The toddler snored quietly and a slight drool at the corner of his mouth.
Seeing his adorable soon first thing in the morning put a smile on Sugawara's face, although it was a rather tired one. He reached out to his son, pulling his shirt down to cover his belly. Kissing Tanaka's forehead, he got out of bed and decided it was time to make breakfast.
He stopped by the door, turning around to take one last look at his son. Seeing his small body alone in the large queen sized bed, his heart twisted in his chest. He bit onto his lips, seeing silhouettes of his wife wrapping her arm around their son.
Taking a shaky breath, he closed the door behind him. He rubbed his eyes, sighing as his shoulders slumped down from an invisible weight. Time to make breakfast, he reminded himself, heading to the kitchen.

Tanaka waved his hands in the air excitedly as his father sat him in his high chair. "Good morning! I'm ready for breakfast!" The child announced, making his father chuckle.
"Hai, hai." Sugawara ruffled his son's short hair. He plated out some warm oats and a glass of milk before his son. He laced a bib around Tanaka's neck. "Don't get your clothes dirty, okay? We need to head to the daycare after this."
"Hai!" Tanaka said and begun helping himself to his breakfast. Sugawara smiled, resting his cheek on his palm as he watched Tanaka eat. He wished for them to stay at that moment forever.
"Is it alright, Tanaka?" Sugawara asked, gently patting his son's head. "Daddy isn't all that good at cooking, dakara gomene ..."
"Iie," Tanaka shook his head, picking up his spoon to feed Sugawara some. "It's good! Though not as good as mommy's but it's good!" Sugawara's smile faded a little at the mention of his late wife.
"Sou...ka?" Sugawara toughed it out, forcing a smile on his face. Feeling the vibration of his phone in his pocket, he pulled away from Tanaka and attended to his phone. Looking at the time, he yelped and rushed to the room, pulling out his tie and blazer.
"Tanaka!" Sugawara called, popping his head out of his room. "We're leaving as soon as you're done, okay?"
"Okay!"
Sugawara smiled, working on his tie. When he was just about done, he suddenly remembered about Tanaka's backpack. He rushed to Tanaka's room, his tie only half way done and his blazer slipping down his arm. He frantically searched for Tanaka's backpack, a small money shaped backpack in yellow. He quickly shoved all the things Tanaka needed: a handkerchief, some snacks, water, extra set of clothes.
Zipping up the backpack, Sugawara rushed out of the room again. "Tanaka, are you all done?" He asked, walking back to his son in the dining room to find Tanaka's bowl in his face. Chuckling. Sugawara pulled out his handkerchief, wiping his son's face.
"Gouichichisousamasama!" Tanaka grinned at his father.
"You eat so well and speak so well," Sugawara kissed his forehead. "Come on, let's go before we're both late!"
"Osu!" Tanaka cheered as Sugawara carried him out of the high chair, rushing out of the house.

Putting down his paper work, Sugawara sighed and pressed his fingers against his temples. He sighed, pain pricking the inside of his eyes as he put down his papers. He was finally back at work after his week long leave. Though, he was given a 3 week leave, he decided to return to work earlier, wanting to get back to his usual life once more.
