When I woke up in the middle of the night I can see Murphy and Rocco, who the twins had apparently gotten while I was taking my little cat nap, were both out cold on the couch and arm chair on the other side of the room. Connor, on the other hand, was no where to be seen. I crawled out of the bed and grabbed Murphy's jacket off the end of the bed before going to check to see if Connor was outside.
As soon as I near the window I could smell cigarettes, instantly knowing where my brother was. I carefully climb out the window onto the fire escape that he was sitting on, careful not to wake too much noise to disturb the two sleeping men in the room.
"Hey what are you doing up? You alright Gillian?" Connor asked as he saw me sit down next to him.
"I woke up and didn't see you so I wanted to find you, plus I didn't think I would be able to fall back to sleep anyway." I say as I rest my head onto my big brothers shoulder. He wraps his arm around me and hugs me to his side as he kisses the top of my head. "What are you doing out here anyway? It has to be atleast three am by now."
"Just thinking since I couldn't sleep." He says while looking out into the night sky. I continue to stare at him as a sign for him to continue to tell me what he is thinking about that was causing him to not be able to sleep. Finally after what seems like forever, when really was not even a minute later, he looks down to see me staring at him. "What are you staring at me for?"
"Waiting for you to tell me whats on your mind, duh." I say while rolling at my brothers response.
"Don't roll your eyes at me missy! I'm just thinking about whether it's a good idea for you to be with Murphy and I with everything going on. I don't want my sweet, innocent baby sister to see people getting killed or to possibly get hurt or worse by being around us." Connor pulls me closer as if to show that he's trying to protect me from the thoughts of what could possibly happen.
"I'll be fine Con, I'm not comple-" suddenly my sentence gets cut off as there was a loud banging coming from within the hotel room followed by shouts of rage. Connor and I both jump up and look in the room to see Sean and more of his gang fighting Murphy and Rocco.
"Here's the keys. Go to the car and lay down in the back on floor. Now go!" Connor says as he quickly kisses my forehead and pushes me towards the stairs of the fire escape.
