After a half hour of intense sewing, the dress lining looked pretty decent. I had an hour to board my flight, shit. I packed my laptop and other needs in my back pack and grabbed my suitcase.

"I called a taxi, he'll be here in 3 minutes." My mom appeared. I was standing in front of my apartment door, waiting for my mom. We waited for the elevator and from the side window, we heard a honk.

Once we reached the front of our apartment building, my mom and I parted ways.

"Back by Tuesday?"

"Back by Tuesday" I smiled at my mom, it was just 3 days. Dan honked from car that was parked behind the taxi's.

"Hey, Dan" I smiled and waved at him which he returned. She was staying with Dan for the rest of the late evening.

"Bye mom, love you." I hugged her.

"I love you too, Hun. Have a safe flight." She walked to Dan's car just as I hopped into the taxi. I didn't even notice him putting my suitcase in the trunk.

Now awaits a 30 minute drive to John F. Kennedy Airport.

*****

The drive had taken longer than expected. I mean, just to get out of Manhattan takes 20 minutes. Once we arrived at the airport, I struggled to get my suitcase out and paid the taxi driver. I stumbled into security, anxious to get onto my flight. It was 10:28pm, my flight leaves in 2 minutes, and I'm not even halfway there! I ran to the terminal, rolling my suitcase after me. I probably looked like a complete moron. I kept looking at my watch, seems like time is going incredibly faster on my watch.

Once I reached the gates, the plane was on the runway, time reading 10.34pm. Great. Just fucking great. I walked to the nearest agent and got her attention.

"May I help you?" She smiled sweetly at me.

"Yes um I just missed my flight to Heathrow, England at 10:30pm." She began typing on her computer.

"So you want to book the next flight?"

"Yes, please." More clicking on the keyboard.

"Next flight leaves at 3:45am." Again, great. My father's wedding begins at 4:30pm.

"Thank you so much." I gratefully said.

"No problem, have a seat wherever you'd like."

I took at seat farthest away from human life. Which was 4 seats away from a small family. I took this chance to call my father. I was supposed to arrive at 8:30am, take a taxi to London, take the tube to my fathers house, take a nap, spend some time with my father, his future wife, and family friends, and prepare for the wedding but now I'll be arriving at 12pm. The drive from Heathrow to London is about 2-3 hours long! Then the tube ride, no nap, no preparing. Great, just great.

"Hello?" My dad's voice rang into my ear.

"Hey, dad. I've got some bad news."

"Really? Aren't you supposed to be on your flight now? Is everything all right?"

"I missed my flight, dad. I'm sorry! I overslept, my dress ripped, and the traffic was insane. I'm so sorry."

"Em, it's alright. What time does the next flight leave?"

"3:45am"

"See? You'll be here in time! Don't worry."

"Okay, dad. I love you."

"I love you too, Emma."
