I wiped the tears from my cheeks and looked around me. There was a young man and women looking in their mid twenties with a baby, a uptight looking business man with a briefcase, a few more other average looking people, and a boy around my age with dark hair and glasses reading a novel.
I stood up and took my things to a Dunkin Donuts that was a few yards down, I was feeling hungry.
There was a young man at the register, about 20-25 years old. He was quite handsome, blonde hair, green eyes. His name tag read Nick.
"Hello, what may I get you?" He- Nick asked. His eyes snapped down at my chest, and then back to my eyes. Creep.
"Um.. I would have an iced coffee with a extra milk and a chocolate chip muffin." I replied.
"Sure, please wait a moment." He walked to the coffee machines and poured my drink into the cup. Then grabbed a bag and pulled a beautiful muffin from the racks. Yum. "Your total will be four dollars and fifty-six cents." I took out my wallet and took out a five dollar bill and handed it to him.
"Thank you." I said as I grabbed my order and suitcase and walked back to my seat. Turns out, more people arrived at the terminal waiting area. My seat is taken and so are the rest. There was one seat available next to the boy my age, who had a dry cleaned suit in its place.
"Hello, do you mind if I seat here? There happens to be no seats left. Sorry." I asked politely. He looked up from his book and removed his glasses.
"Sure, no problem." He smiled at me and moved his suit from the seat. I say down and took a sip from my coffee. This stuff is way better than Starbucks, how do people like their coffee? Its disgusting and overrated.
"So where are you heading to?" I looked over at the boy. He had an accent, I think.
"Um, London. You?" I took another sip.
"Same. What are you going for?" British is his accent.
"Father's wedding. You?"
"Funeral."
"Oh. What are you doing in New York?" I took out my muffin, goddamn it smells good.
"I go to Uni in Connecticut." He replied while opening his MacBook.
"What are you studying?" Taking a bite of the deliciousness.
"Um.. Law and humanities."
"Interesting, I'm in college too."
"Studying what?" He asked.
"Cardiology."
"Now, THAT'S interesting." He smiled.
