"So are you going with me to get Mrs. April something to wear for Diamond surprise engagement party?"
Des looked at me crazy.
"I don't trust her babe."
I sucked my teeth.
"Des this not about you. That's his mother, he wants a relationship with her. I forgive her and trust her until she still give me a reason not to."
"Well I don't, im keeping my eyes on her. But yes im going. I need to get my nails and toes done."
"Really?"
"Hell yeahh, and from what I saw she need hers done too."
I shook my head as I finished getting dressed. As I was applying makeup Josiah knocked on the door before walking in.
"What yall doing?"
"What it look like knuckle head?"
Josiah brushed Des off and put his attention on me.
"Ma wants to take Nova. That's cool?"
"Yeahh, you know that's cool."
"Iight. Well get Diamond a nice sexy sky blue or red dress. I have two shirts those colors, but it depends which color you get. FaceTime me when you find something. Im getting her out this house."
"Okay cool. Have you talk to Jayson?"
"Nawhh. Not since I told him about the party. He went with me to get my outfit. What's up?"
I shook my head.
"Nothing. Just havent talk to him since the hospital. Is Zakai dressed?"
"Yeahh. He downstairs with ma and Nova. Know Uncle Jo had to get him fresh."
My phone buzzed alerting me of a text.
Zoe: I want my son.
Me: I'll bring him later, already got plans. You can keep him tonight.
Zoe: Just hit me up and I'll come get him.
Me: Will do.
"Come on, you been looking in that mirror the whole time I did my makeup and havent nun change. You look good babe. Lets go."
Des followed me with Dakari already asleep in his carseat.
This is going to be an awkward day but hopefully we click well with Mrs. April and the day goes good.
Ill do anything for my brothers. All they have to do is let me know what's up. Nothing is greater than a relationship between a mother and her son.
This is a big step he's taking and he knows his sister got him all the way 100%, no questions asked.
