The Final Goodbye

Skylar's Pov:
"MOM, NO!" I screamed as I was crying in her hospital room. By now, I have had been announced that my mother has died from breast cancer. So many thoughts are going through my mind I couldn't think straight. Knowing your mom is dead is the worst thing to hear. No more waking up to breakfast, no more midnight talks when I couldn't sleep. Especially when you can't say "Mom thank you for everything you have done for me. I will always love you." I just wanted to be left alone and cry. "Honey it's time to go." My mother's best friend , Ava, said to me as I was saying my final goodbye to my mother. Apparently my mother wanted me to live with Ava when she dies. I like Ava, she reminds me of my mom alot, no wonder they were best friends. I haven't known Ava for a while because I'm always hanging out with my best friends Hailey and Megan. But, now that I'm living with Ava I'll get to know more about her. Ava had told me she has a son my age so maybe I'll make a new friend. "Okay I'm ready." I respond to her before giving my mom a final kiss goodbye. "I love you." And with that I walked out of the hospital on my way to my house to get my things.

4 hours later

"I'm all packed up and ready to go." I told Ava as I put my last box into the truck with the rest of my belongings. "I'm really sorry you need to go through all of this at such a young age." Ava said as she was getting in to the car. "It really sucks she isn't here anymore but I rather have her watching over me then suffering." I said.

"Enough about this, I'm about to get really emotional. Tell me about your son. What is he like?"

"His name is Colten, he goes to your high school maybe you seen him around. Don't tell him I said this but he likes to date alot of girls." Ava laughed.

I was thinking the only Colten I have heard of is Colten Andrews. Oh no, I'm hoping it's not the schools bad boy. She did say he dates alot of girls. By now I have butterflies in my stomach just praying it's not Colten Andrews. Now I have something to think about to get my mind of my mother.

"We are here." I get out the car astonished on how huge her house was. My old house was big but not this big (The house in the media).I am so excited to see my room. "Skylar can you start taking some of these boxes in to the living room?" Ava asked while she took out a few boxes. I grabbed a box and looked at the writing on the top. It read " pics of me and mom". I smiled as I walked in the front door thinking of my favorite picture of me and my mom at the beach. My mouth dropped when I saw the living room. It had two big couches, a love seat, a flat screen TV on the wall, a coffee table in the middle, and a table filled with flowers and pictures of Ava her husband and...
